Different sounds make the whole world more lovely, especially the sound of music I like music of all kinds and I enjoy doing work，even hard work with beautiful music around me．

    When I was in the country of America in i988，and that was about more than twenty years ago，I did many things．But one thing that I can’t forget is that I just fell in love with the different kinds of American songs as soon as I got there，folk（民間的）songs，country songs，and western songs。It was the first time for me to listen to real American songs．So I bought a walkman（隨身聽(tīng)）and listened to the songs whenever I had free time．There were no mp3s or mp4s，not to say mp5s in those days And American people were just beginning to use computers and they were not popular then．So I recorded （錄制）some of my favorite songs on some cassette tapes to take back home a year later．Believe it or not．I learnt to sing some American popular songs myself at the time．From listening to the songs and singing them I not only improved my English，but also I got to know more about the life of American people．I really killed two birds with one stone! I’m really happy because I can listen to all kinds of songs very easily from the Internet now．I’m sure I will live，listening to American songs all my life

Feeling left out?
A reader wrote in to say that she was feeling lonely at break because her best friend wasn’t around．Here’s our advice to her—and to all kids who feel lonely sometimes. It’s hard when a best friend isn’t around—maybe because she moved to a different school or a different class．You may feel lonely at break or lunchtime．You want to have new friends．But how do you make them? If you have trouble doing this or if you’re feeling shy, ask your teacher to help you make  new friends．Teachers are usually pretty good at matching up friends．The best way to make friends is to be a friend．Be kind，be friendly，share，say nice things，offer to help—and pretty soon，you’ ll have one，or two，or even more new friends.
