Garbage or trash is a main kind of environmental pollution. Each person makes about two kilograms a day. We are making waste faster than nature can break them down. And we are running out of resources(資源)faster than they can be dealt with. This increases troubles for the environment .Where does all that garbage go? What can be done to help deal with garbage? How can we make less garbage?

Garbage isn’t just the rotting (腐爛的) fruit, vegetables or meat that we throw away in our homes, schools or supermarkets. Those are only a small part of all the things we throw away. We create the most waste in construction, mining and in our factories.

___________Most is burned or buried in landfills( 垃圾填埋場)Less than a quarter of our waste can be used again.

With a population of 13 billion, garbage is a big problem for China. Chinese cities create around 148 million tons of garbage every year.

Once, we used about 3 billion plastic shopping bags every day in China. The result was a great waste of resources and serious pollution. Last year, we did something about that. Now we use more cloth bags and shopping baskets when we shop.

In the coming years, China will build waste-to-energy plants in cities to clean up garbage, but there's a lot more that needs to be done.

The concept of homeschooling is not a new one. Homeschooling means educating children at home instead of sending them to public or private schools. Nowadays, homeschooling has become popular in the USA for a lot of reasons. One of them is poor quality of education in public schools and it’s also because of the high cost in private schools. Some parents believe that because they know their child’s strengths and weaknesses, they can teach him or her better. Some parents prefer homeschooling so as to prevent their children from getting into bad company. There is another group of people who choose to educate their children at home because they want them to learn their religious beliefs. They also think that homeschooling would help in development of strong family bonds (家庭紐帶).

However, there are some negative influences of homeschooling on students as well as parents.

Homeschooling is a full-time job and not fit for parents who have their own careers. It takes a lot of time for parents’ side to make homeschooling a success. Other family members’ responsibilities may also be affected. They may give their full attention to the needs of their children. Besides, a parent may have high educational qualifications, but that does not make him or her a good teacher. Teaching is an art, which requires the ability to understand the needs of the children. It may be difficult for the parents to explain the concepts to their children.

In today’s world, competition is seen in every field, and school prepares children to face these competitions. However, homeschooling does not give the children a chance to compare with other kids. They will also not be aware of where they stand in educational position among their classmates. This may affect their lives. Education is not the only thing that the children need to become successful human beings. It is necessary that they learn to communicate in the society, and public school provides them with such an environment, where they meet many people. Schools also provide children with a chance to take part in different activities to improve their overall development.

It is true that it has many advantages, but one must get to know that school teaches children skills to survive.

Myopia(近視) can be inherited(經(jīng)遺傳得到) from parents.A study found that if both parents have myopia, there is a 33 to 60 percent chance that the child has.For children who have one parent with myopia, the chance is 23 to 40 percent, and it is down to 6 to 15 percent for kids with non-myopia parents. So no matter how bad your parents’ eyesight is, you will have a chance of having good eyesight.

Is it true that people who are color-blind can't see colors?

Color blindness doesn’t mean that someone can’t see colors at all.It means that some has difficulty seeing differences in certain colors, usually green and red or blue and yellow.Color blindness is usually a condition caused by not having cone cells(視錐細胞) or having the cells that don't work. There are different levels of color blindness.
