Aunt Linda's advice page
Peter
I went out with a group of friends yesterday. We saw a lady lying in the street. She looked very sick. My friends made jokes about her and laughed. Though I wanted to help her, my friends told me not t0. It was awful of them to laugh at her, and I regret not saying anything. I feel ashamed of myself. What should I do in this situation?

Dear Julie
You should talk 100 your sister more. Ask her to play the piano only when you’re not studying. Let her borrow your things only if she as you frt. Perhaps she just wants more attention from you. Try spending some time with her every day and you’ll learn how 10 live happily with each other.

Self- reflection (反省) means stopping the mad rush of activity and keeping yourself and your mind cool, so your brain can evaluate (評價(jià)) the input that it has already received. Some people prefer to do their self-reflection in the way of thinking, while others do it in the way of writing something, like keeping a diary or writing notes of some kind.
School textbooks are often divided into units of study. This can make self-reflection easier for someone who wants to do it. Self-reflection can be done in any of the subjects you are learning: math, art or others. Sometimes you are reminded that the unit is over because there is some kind of test. Using those natural breaks above as chances to reflect is a good way.
As a student, you can do self-reflection at school. First, you can write down some notes on things that you learned in this unit that you did not know before you began. Let your mind think over the notes and make some connections with what you have learned. Next, think about the things that you still wonder about. For example, you learned a new way to solve a math problem, but you are not sure when to use it. Writing down your questions will help you remember to seek answers when you meet the same topic again.
Self-reflection is an important skill for a successful student. If you have never taken the time to reflect, try it now.
1.If you keep a reflection diary, that means you are doing self-reflection by the form of___________.
A.speaking B.action C.writing D.thinking
2.___________is a natural break chance to reflect.
A.Taking some kind of rest when school is over B.That school textbooks are divided into units

A.make some connections to solve a problem
B.let your mind think over the notes or diary you have written
C.write down some notes you don’t know before you began
D.seek answers next time you meet the same topic
4.The underlined word “seek” in the passage means___________.
A.find out B.ask for C.put out D.take down
5.This passage mainly tells us___________.
A.the ways to do self-reflection
B.how to be a successful student
