There is no way that you don't have any embarrassing moments. You can't control everything that happens, so you're going to be in an embarrassing situation one day. So how can you solve this problem? The answer is to control your actions and try not to get upset.

◆Remember that you'll probably laugh about it in a few days, so try to see the funny side of it.

◆If it is something so embarrassing that you feel you will never laugh about it, please remember that the __(1)__ will be over after some time.

◆Ask your friends to give you a break and not to make fun of you. If you've done the same for them, they're more likely to agree to give you a break.

Always remember that you are not alone. Everyone has embarrassing moments. While you are sure that everyone is going to remember this moment forever, the fact is that they'll probably forget it very soon. Most of us remember the moments in which we feel embarrassed, but very few of us remember other people's embarrassing moments.

Most people have short memories. So while you may never forget the moment when your skirt was torn (撕裂) in gym class, most of the other people probably forget it at once. Although a short memory may not be a(n) __(2)__ thing when you are trying to remember facts in a history test, it is useful when you are trying to forget life's most embarrassing moments.

根據(jù)短文內容,判斷正誤(正確“T”,錯誤“F”),并將答案涂到答題卡的相應位置上。

“Which is the right bin for my rubbish?” This may be the most asked question in Shanghai since it started a new garbage-sorting (垃圾分類) program on July 1, 2019 When learning about the four kinds of rubbish-wet, dry, recyclable (可回收的) and harmful-many people maybe don' know how to properly sort it.

To help people solve this problem, China's technology companies are giving a hand. For example, if you want to know which bin your wet wipes (濕巾) should go in, you can just open a mini app in WeChat or Alipay and look for “wet wipes”. The app will give you the answer right away. Soon, you might do it in an easier way. Maybe you can just take a photo of the rubbish and then be told where it should go.

This kind of technology is called image recognition (圖像識別). It uses artificial intelligence (AI, 人工智能). Many companies around the world are making garbage-sorting robots that use this technology. For example, AMP Robotics in the US has made a robot that can sort food and drink packages (包裝).By “seeing” pictures on the packages, the robot will pick up the rubbish and put it in the right place.

The future of garbage-sorting looks good. But it's not the best way. The best thing we can do is to make less rubbish in the first place.

1.The people in Shanghai must put the rubbish into the right bin since July 1, 2019.

2.People know how to sort the five kinds of rubbish.

3.WeChat can help people sort the rubbish correctly.

4.According to paragraph 3, garbage-sorting robots can only “seeing”pictures on the packages.

5.Making less rubbish is the best thing we can do in the first place.

科目:初中英語 來源:外研版八年級英語下冊Module 3 Journey to space Unit 2 We have not found life on any other planets yet. 題型:閱讀單選

For thousands of years, humans have explored(探索) the Earth. Nowadays, we are exploring space. Astronomers (天文學家) are modern-day explorers. Now, many astronomers are looking for new planets and new places of humans to live in the future. But where do astronomers start looking?

First of all, astronomers look for a star. That’s because our own Earth moves around a star (the Sun). More importantly, it is the correct distance(距離) from the Sun for heat and light. So when astronomers have found the star, they look at the planets around it. In recent years, astronomers have found nearly 400 new planets with stars. However, many of these planets are either too near to the star or too far away.

However, if the planet is in a good position, astronomers look for three key things: water, air and rock. Water is important because all life needs water. Humans can drink it and they can also grow plants with water. And plants produce air for humans to breathe and food to eat. Rock on a planet is also important. That’s because there is often water under the rock.

After many years of scrutinizing, astronomers have found a planet that is similar to the Earth. It’s Gliese 581g and it’s near a star. The astronomers think it has water and rock and the average(平均的) temperature is between-310C and -120C. That’s cold, but not colder than Antarctica or Arctic Circle, for example, Gliese 581g is bigger than the Earth. A year on Gliese 581g is only 37 Earth days instead of 365. But astronomers do not think there are big differences and some them thing Gliese 581g will be a new Earth. However, Gliese 581g is twenty light years from the Earth.

1.What do astronomers have to find first before starting to look for a new place for humans to have?

A. A new star. B. A new planet. C. Some heat. D. Some light.

2.What does the rock on a planet tell us?

A. The star is a right position.

B. We may discover water under it.

C. The planet is too near to the Sun.

D. There can be air around the rock.

3.What does the underlined word “scrutinizing” mean in the last paragraph?

A. discussing B. waiting C. looking D. traveling

4.What’s the main idea of the text?

A. Gliese 581g is already a new Earth.

B. There are planets similar to our Earth.

C. Water, air and rock are important.

D. Astronomers are looking for a new Earth.
