【題目】We often hear the girl _______ happily in her room.
A.singB.to singC.sangD.sings
【答案】A
【解析】
句意:我們經(jīng)常聽到那個女孩在房間里快樂地唱歌。
考查非謂語動詞。sing唱歌,動詞原形;to sing唱歌,動詞不定式;sang唱歌,過去式;sings唱歌,動詞三單;英語中表達“聽到某人做某事”是hear sb do或者hear sb doing,如果接do表示動作經(jīng)常發(fā)生或者發(fā)生的全過程,如果接doing表示動作正在進行,根據(jù)句意理解可知,這里表達的是“聽到某人經(jīng)常唱歌”,且本句中有often,所以這里表達的動作是經(jīng)常發(fā)生的,所以這里應(yīng)該選擇省略to的不定式的形式,構(gòu)成hear sb do sth的結(jié)構(gòu),故選A。

【題目】 Music is part of every culture on Earth. Many people feel that music makes life worth living. We can make music ourselves if we play an instrument(樂器) or sing. We can hear music on CDs or tapes, on radio or television and even on the Internet.
Music gives us pleasure. It can cheer us up, or excite us. Music can make us feel happy, sad, excited or calm-all kinds of feelings. But what is it? Some people describe it as an artful form of sounds across time. These sounds might be loud or soft, high or low, quick and short, or slow and long. The sounds need to keep on for some time in some kinds of forms to become music.
Music, like language, is a special human form of communication. Also like language, there are many different kinds. In North America, people listen to jazz, rock, classical, folk, country, and many other kinds of music. Each kind of music has its own rules and “speaks” to us in its own way. What we think of music depends on where we live. What Americans are used to listening to might sound strange to someone from another culture. It might not even sound like music. And also you can find that every country has its own typical instruments to show their traditional music. Today, modern communications make it possible for us to listen to music from all over the world. In this way music from one part of the world could influence music from another part.
Music goes along with many of our activities. We dance to music. We sing songs at school. Many of us exercise to music. We hear music in cars and stores. Music comes with many important moments. Music pleases us. We listen to slow music, spiritual music, pop music, rock music, and opera. We have favorite performers. We hear music as the background in movies. Perhaps we go to the theater to see a musical movie---play with music, singing, and often with dancing. Music is part of our lives.

Jack was not a stupid kid, nor was he the cleverest student. He didn’t care for school. With his “I’d rather be fishing” opinion, Jack missed a lot of classes. Knowing that graduating from middle school was not going to be written in his life, Jack left school at the age of fourteen.
Jack then was taken to his uncle’s farm in Wisconsin. At the age of eighteen, he went to California. He found a good job at an aircraft (飛機) company there. He had to lie (撒謊) about his education. Worrying that his background (學歷) was found out, Jack was employed there.
Two years later, Jack got married. To better his life, he got his high school diploma (畢業(yè)文憑). He chose to learn automotive technology (汽車技術(shù)) as well. Sadly, this was terminated when he took his wife and son back to his uncle’s farm. Jack found a job as a worker in a wire factory. Seven years later, Jack realized he was not going to work there all his life. He wanted to be an automobile engineer, so he left there again.
Because of hard work, Jack joined a junior college to learn automotive technology in the state of California. 【題目】 A new research has discovered that meditation(冥想)and oxygen sport together reduce depression(抑郁). The Rutgers University study found that this mind and body combination, done twice a week for only two months, reduced the symptoms of a group of students by 40 percent.
“We are excited by the findings because we saw such a meaningful improvement in both clinically depressed and non-depressed students, ”said lead author Dr. Brandon Alderman.“It is the first time that both of these two behavioral ways have been looked at together for dealing with depression.”
Researchers believe the two activities have an interactive(交互的)effect in combating depression. Alderman and Dr. Tracey Shors discovered that a combination of mental and physical training( MAP) enabled students with major depressive disorder not to let problems or negative thoughts defeat them.
Rutgers researchers say those who participated in the study began with 30 minutes of focused attention meditation followed by 30 minutes of oxygen sport. They were told that if their thoughts drifted to the past or the future they should refocus on their breathing, which enabled those with depression to accept moment-to-moment changes in attention.
Shors, who studies the production of new brain cells in the hippocampus-part of the brain involved in memory and learning-says scientists have shown in animal models that oxygen sport exercise keeps a large number of certain cells alive.
The idea for the human intervention(干預(yù))came from her laboratory studies, she says, with the main goal of helping individuals acquire new skills so that they can learn to recover from stressful life events.
By learning to focus their attention and exercise, people who are fighting depression can acquire new learning skills that can help them process information and reduce the overwhelming recollection of memories from the past, Shors says.
“We know these treatments can be practiced over a lifetime and that they will be affective in improving mental health, ”said Alderman.“The good news is that this intervention can be practiced by anyone at any time and at no cost.”
【1】What made the research so different?
A.Adopting a way of meaningful talk.B.Treating depression with special medicine.
C.Combining the two ways to reduce depression.D.Comparing the depressed with the non-depressed.
【2】The underlined word "combasting" in Paragraph 3 probably means __________.
A.fightingB.developingC.improvingD.examining
【3】What can we know about what the participants did in the research?
A.They did oxygen sport half an hour before thinking.B.They thought quietly and then took exercise.
C.They took exercise longer than they thought.D.They took exercise while thinking quietly.
【4】What is Shors' main purpose of her studies?
A.To find out certain brain cells of humans.B.To study the production of new brain cells.
C.To offer people a new method to reduce stress.D.To decide the links between stress and exercise.
