A. three三,B. first第一,C. third第三,D. two 二。根據(jù)文中“My mom once told me that after I learned to say 'Mama' and ' Dada' ”可知,作者學(xué)會(huì)的前兩個(gè)詞是“媽媽”和“爸爸”,所以“no”就是第三個(gè)詞。

A. in……里,B. on……上面,C. during…… in time“及時(shí)”,on time“按時(shí)”,結(jié)合句意,我不想按時(shí)上床睡覺。

A. letters信,B. messages信息,C. shapes形狀,D. words單詞。in other words“換句話說”,故選D。

of three sons “三個(gè)兒子當(dāng)中的.....

A. As當(dāng)……時(shí)候,B. Until 直到,C. If如果,D. So所以。

remember doing sth“記得做過某事” remember to do sth“記得去做某事”,and前后并列關(guān)系,and前是動(dòng)名詞短語making the bed,因此and后用動(dòng)名詞短語。

A. talent才干,B. grades分?jǐn)?shù),C. gifts禮物,D. chances機(jī)會(huì)。

A. do做,是一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)非第三人稱單數(shù)形式;B. does做,是第三人稱單數(shù)形式;C. did做,是一般過去時(shí);D. to do做,是動(dòng)詞不定式。

A. news新聞,消息;B. information信息;C. reason原因;D. advice建議。根據(jù)后文的“.I can remember learning that saying "yes" could bring more fun into my life than saying "no"ever____8____”可知,說“是”要比說“不”帶給我生活的樂趣更多。

A. almost 幾乎,B. hardly幾乎不,C. finally最后,D. only僅僅。根據(jù)but前后表示轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系,but后表示它能改變你的生活,but前強(qiáng)調(diào)它很渺小,因此表示只是一個(gè)單詞。

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge has four parts, including a 22.9-kilometer-long steel bridge, two artificial (人造的) islands, a 6.7-kilometer-long undersea tunnel, and leading bridges. These bridges connect the bridge to the three landing points. The 6.7-kilometer tunnel is the world’s longest submerged (水下的) sea tunnel. The two artificial islands help create a smooth transition (過渡) between the bridge and the tunnels.

The island and tunnel project is the first Chinese mainland project to win the award. It is also the third international engineering award that the bridge project has won this year. It also took another two home: the “Global best project: bridge/tunnel” from the American Engineering News-record and the “Major project of the year” award from the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association.

In the eyes of many foreigners, Chinese are the best hosts and the worst guests in the world. They’re not really bad guests, but because the guest-host relationship in China is much different than in some western counties, it appears they are not nice guests. 1

2 Whenever I enter a Chinese person’s home, there is always fruit on the table for me, and someone is quick to bring me a cup of tea or water. In the west, generally the guest is not a god. 3

My wife’s mother, a very kind elderly Chinese lady, doesn’t smoke. When I see some of her guests smoking in her house. As a non-smoker, I feel unhappy. Usually I want to stop them directly, but I must realize that in China, to be a good host, she must not do that. In most North America homes, if you are a guest, and the hosts are not smokers, you should not smoke in their house. 4 But, don’t be surprised if they say, “No, you can’t smoke.”

5 Some western people may not adapt to these habits very soon. Thankfully my wife is Chinese, so whenever we visit a Chinese family she tells me to buy them a gift. However, giving a gift to a host is not always necessary in my country. So, if you invite international guests to your home, don’t be too surprised if they don’t bring you a gift.

In China, you probably won’t need to change the guest-host relationship very much because you will probably only be the host, and Chinese are naturally very good hosts. If western hosts invite you to their house, try not to be too surprised if their style of treating you is not what you have expected.

A. In China, guests are almost like gods.

B. Guests in China also have special habits.

C. At the very least, you could ask, “Is it OK if I smoke?”

D. Acting according to the host’s way of doing things is usual behavior for a guest.

E. And western guests sometimes look impolite or even rude in the eyes of Chinese guests.
