According to the University of California，which searched teenagers aged between 13 and 18，the pleasure they get from a “l(fā)ike” is the same as that of eating chocolate or winning money，and they can't help waiting more. The research also shows that although the “l(fā)ike” might come from strangers，the pleasure they get from it works all the time.

Why is it that so many young people want the excitement of seeing that little “thumbs up” on their screen？The article “Why do people desire attention？” explains several cases in which people naturally long for attention.
