    Mark Twain was a famous American writer. He liked fishing very much.

    One year,he went to Maine for a holiday. After the holiday,he took the train back home. On the train,a serious man sat down across from him. He didn't smile at all. Mark Twain said ,“Good morning!” And they began to talk with each other.

    First they talked about the weather and then they talked about Maine. The man said,uWe have some beautiful places in Maine. Did you visit them?” “Yes,I did ,” answered Mark Twain. “I spent three weeks there. I had a great time visiting those beautiful places. And let me tell you something. Although fishing isn5t allowed in Maine at this time,I have two hundred fish in my case. I like eating fish,so I put them in ice to take them home. May I ask what you do,Sir?”

    The man then answered ,“I'm a policeman. My job is to catch people who fish at this time. And who are you?”

Mark Twain was surprised when he heard this. He thought quickly and then answered ,“Well,Sir,I'm the man who tells the biggest lies in America."
