Being safe at school and in your everyday life needs knowledge. If you remember the following information, your life will be much safer.

Always notice the environment around you. You shouldn’t walk alone outside Make sure where the public phones are. If anything dangerous happens you can find them quickly.

Don't use earphones (耳機) when running in the playground or on the street. You will keep yourself from the outside world and can be easily surprised.

The school bag should be carried towards the front of your body instead of putting it on your back. When buses are crowded, it is easy enough for thieves to steal the things in your bag on your back.

If you are followed by a stranger, cross the street and go in the other direction; let the stranger know that you know he or she is there. Next, go and get help from others if it is necessary. Don't go home directly. You are safer on the street than you are in your home or in a lift.

If you have to take a bus to a place far away, try to get to the stop few minutes before the buses leave. This prevents a stranger from studying you. On buses, don’t sit alone, sit behind the driver or with friends. Don’t sleep.

Don’t play with matches or candles, because it may cause fire. If your house catches fire and you have to escape through smoke, move on your hands and knees with your head 30 to 60 cm above the floor. Please remember there is cleaner, cooler air near the floor during the fire.

1.If you find a stranger following you, go home right away.

2.You'd better sit behind the driver when you are alone to take a bus.

3.It’s good for you to use earphones when you are running outside.

4.You shouldn’t sleep all the way although it’s a long bus trip.

5.During the fire, the cleaner and cooler air is far from the floor.

A new study says the habit of sleeping in(睡懶覺)on weekends may not be such a good idea for your health.

36 healthy young men and women took part in the study. They were divided into three groups and were followed over 30 days.

The first group could sleep for nine hours each night for the 30 days. The second group had other only five hours of sleep every night. The third group had five hours on weekdays but was allowed to sleep as long as they wanted on the weekend. But on Monday, the third group was put back to the sleep schedule(周期)of only five hours a night.

The study showed that the first and the third groups ate more snacks after dinner and put on weight during the study, men much more than women.

What was surprising the scientists was the third group who slept in on weekends. "Even though people slept as much as they could, it was not enough," Dr. Wright said. "As soon as they went back to the short sleep schedules on Monday, the ability of their body to control blood sugar was badly affected." "Not only that, the result showed increased sensitivity to insulin(胰島素)in both their muscles(肌肉)and their livers(肝臟), the result wasn't found in other groups.
