【題目】 You may charge(充電) your phone every day, but do you clean your phone as much? Whatever your hands touch, your phones touch. It has been discovered that some phones have 18 times more bacteria and viruses (細(xì)菌病毒) than any surface in a public restroom. So it won’t surprise you that a 2011 University of London study found that one in six of our phones have bacteria and viruses on them.
The research on bacteria and viruses led to the invention of PhoneSoap. It is not actually liquid (液體). It is a phone charger that uses the electromagnetic radiation (輻射) to kill 99.9 percent of bacteria and viruses, cleaning your phone while it charges.
“Certain types of bacteria and viruses are really on our phones,” says Wes Barnes, the PhoneSoap founder. “It would be the fastest, most powerful way to kill them .”
PhoneSoap looks like a little metal suitcase. Your phone rests in to charge and get cleaned at the same time. Instead of plugging your phone into the wall, you’d plug it into the PhoneSoap charger box. The process only takes a few minutes but, Barnes says, “The idea is that you can leave it in there overnight if you want to keep charging. and it cleans the phone fully.”
The founder found the right companies and then started shipping the product in late November. By last week’s International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, PhoneSoap was very popular with people. The founder has left his present job and is selling PhoneSoap without a stop. “We sell out PhoneSoap every day, and we will try to provide enough PhoneSoap” Barnes says. “It’s been a great challenge.”

【題目】 With the holidays coming up, lots of people will be having parties. Want to make sure you're a perfect host or guest? Now it's a good time to brush up on your party manners.
When inviting guests to your party, send invitations to their homes instead of passing them out at school. This way, you won't hurt the feelings of classmates you didn't invite.
If people at the party don't know each other, make sure you introduce everyone.
If your guests bring gifts for you, thank each gift-giver as you open his/her present. After the party, be sure to send a hand-written thank-you card to each guest, telling them how much you appreciate their gifts.
When you receive an invitation to a party, be sure to let the host know whether you can come.
Arrive on time. Bring a gift to a birthday party. If it's a holiday party, ask the host if there's anything you can bring. Adults often bring a dessert or a bottle of wine to a party, even when the host tells them that
he/she doesn't need anything. Young people don't have to do this, but it's always polite to ask.
Be friendly to the other guests. Remember to say “Please” and “Thank you!” When you leave, thank the host for the party.

1903-The first flight succeeded In 1900, Wilbur Wright said flight was possible for man. After much work, he and his brother Orville Wright made this dream come true.On December 17, 1903, the brothers made the first successful airplane flight on a windy beach at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The brothers' plane flew 120 feet. Although the flight lasted only 12 seconds, it moved the course of history in a new direction.
1935-Nylon was invented In 1928, a new chemical lab was opened to make a kind of man-made materials. Wallace Carothers took part in the team when he was 32 years old. In 1934, he made fibers(纖維), but the fibers were quite weak. He didn't give up. After many experiments, he produced the fibers "nylon". Carothers was very satisfied with his work. Nylon hit the markets in 1939, and quickly became a replacement of silk. But it was a pity that he didn't see the wide use of his invention. He died in April, 1937.

It was named"mouse "because a tail came out at the end. In later years. the computer mouse became more and more important. Douglas Engelbart changed the way that computers worked. 【題目】 Do you have trouble trying to create the next big idea? Sometimes the answer isn’t to just force an idea out of your mind. Instead, you might want to try sitting back, relaxing and letting your mind wander(走神). Yes, you heard that correctly. If you are in need of a new idea, try daydreaming.
Researchers from the University of California, Santa Barbara, found an association(聯(lián)系)between daydreaming and creative problem-solving. Their study includes having participants(參與者)first do an “unusual-use task”. They had to try to come up with as many different ways to use an object as they could.
Then, the participants chose to do one of the following four things before doing the “unusual-use task” again: Complete a difficult task ; complete an easy task; take a 12 –minute break; or skip(跳過(guò))12-minute break and move right on to the task exercise again.
Surprisingly, the group that performed(執(zhí)行) best was the one that completed the easy task. Many participants reported that they were daydreaming while performing the easy task. So the researchers believed that this daydreaming might have helped unlock their creativity.
But how could daydreaming help the brain come up with creative ways? The answer is something known as “unconscious thought”. Even when you are not actively working to solve a problem, it is still in the back of your mind. Your brain is still thinking about the problem, but in a much more subtle(不易察覺(jué)的)way.
When you daydream, your mind is allowed to think in ways it normally would not. Because it is free of control, it can create completely new and out-of-the-box ideas.
Great ideas never come easily, but that does not mean you always have to work hard to get them. Feel free to do what you want and let your mind wander.

A.Because they were more creative than the others.
B.Because they were more knowledgeable than the others
C.Because they were better at solving problems than the others
D.Because they had the time to daydream, which might have helped unlock their creativity.
【4】What does the underlined phrase “unconscious thought” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A.Your brain is thinking about a problem outside of your awareness(意識(shí))
B.Your brain knows what you’re thinking and doing.
C.Your brain has a purpose of its own that cannot be known.
D.Your brain refuses to receive any information from the outside world.
