【題目】 Have you heard of 5G? It is the fifth generation of mobile network technology. If the past few years were about testing and developing of 5G technology, it's time to show some real applications (應(yīng)用) this year. What changes will 5G bring to us?

First, 5G promises much faster data download and upload speeds, and more stable connections. This means that you will be able to download an entire HD movie in seconds and only experience a short delay between sending and receiving data. Also, VR games will become more popular with 5G. The short delay of 5G will make the games more real.

This big change will not only make our mobile Internet faster. It will also change every industry like health care in telemedicine (遠程醫(yī)療) and self-driving cars. These cars can send signals to each other. They also "talk" to traffic lights and road sensors (傳感器) . 5G will show cars to react even faster than human drivers.

5G also makes the Internet of Things (IoT物聯(lián)網(wǎng)) possible. IoT is a large network that connects everything to the Internet. Smart homes are part of it. For example, your toaster could automatically (自動地) start making breakfast after your alarm rings.

Though 5G makes our lives more convenient, it will not be perfect. For one thing, 5G will not "travel" far. On 4G networks, we can be 10 kilometers away from the nearest transmission base (傳輸基地) and barely lost signal. But 5G will only cover about 300 meters, meaning that we will need more transmitters so that we can get signals. And in order to use 5G, we will have to buy new products specifically designed for 5G that are presently expensive.

1You will be able to download an entire HD movie in seconds because 5G promises __________.

A.less fast data download and upload speeds

B.more unstable connections

C.the much faster mobile Internet

2The example of the toaster is used to explain the usage of 5G in the area of __________.

A.the Internet of ThingsB.transportationC.mobile Internet

3The underlined word "react" in Paragraph 3 means __________in Chinese.

A.駕駛B.反應(yīng)C.思考

4Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?

A.5G technology is in the period of testing this year.

B.With the help of 5Gpatients can see the doctor through the Internet.

C.Self-driving cars are faster than human drivers with the help of 5G.

5The best title for this passage would be "__________".

A.Future TechnologyB.5G Network Is on the WayC.The Advantages of 5G

【題目】 What color are icebergs (冰山)? White or blue? Surprisingly, there are green icebergs in Antarctica (南極). Their unusual color has confused scientists for years. But scientists have finally solved the mystery of the green icebergs.

Icebergs are large pieces of ice in the sea. Icebergs form after breaking away from glaciers (冰川).

Most icebergs are white. There are also many icebergs in Antarctica that are blue. Glacial ice has a lot of small air bubbles (氣泡). The icebergs appear to be blue because the air bubbles reflect blue light.

However, there are no air bubbles in green icebergs, which means these icebergs are made out of sea ice rather than glacial ice.

But why does sea ice look green? Scientists at the University of Washington, US, recently found the reason--- iron oxide (氧化鐵). It comes from rock dust found on the Antarctic mainland. After studying the green icebergs, scientists found that they have 500 times more iron than glacial ice. The iron comes from bedrock in the ocean. When glaciers grind (碾磨) against bedrock, a powder (粉末) that is rich in iron is created. The powder later mixes with ocean water, which then freezes as green sea ice, Stephen Warren from the university suggested.

This is an important finding because these green icebergs can deliver iron to far parts of the ocean. There, tiny sea plants use the iron as a nutrient (營養(yǎng)物). We thought green icebergs were interesting. But now they may actually be important.

1According to the story, icebergs can be ________.

A.white, blue and yellowB.green, blue and yellow

C.white, green and blueD.blue, red and green

2Some icebergs look green because ________.

A.there is iron oxide inside of themB.air bubbles inside reflect green light

C.some sea plants are frozen insideD.they are made out of bedrock

3The iron in green icebergs comes from ________.

A.glacial iceB.bedrock in the ocean

C.dead bodies of sea animalsD.industrial waste

4What can we infer (推斷) from the story?

A.Green icebergs can only be found in Antarctica.

B.Glaciers don’t have any color.

C.Sea ice does not have air bubbles.

D.Antarctica animals feed on colorful icebergs.

5What’s the best title of the passage?

A.Iron OxideB.Mystery of the Green Icebergs

C.The Change of ColorsD.Differences between Glacial and Sea Ice
