【題目】Many animals hide(躲藏) to stay alive(活著的). They hide in many ways. Some animals hide in leaves, some animals hide in snow. Usually their colors or shapes help protect them. It’s hard to see an Arctic bear in snow. Its white fur helps protect it. Chameleons(變色龍) can hide by changing colors. Their skin turns the same color as what is around them. Some chameleons can change their colors in five minutes.
Many animals try to look bigger than they are to stay alive. Some animals can make other animals think they are very big. If they look very big, animals that are looking for food will run away. Bears can walk on two legs. They look very, very scary(嚇人的). Some animals will run away from them.
Many animals try to stay around other animals. This helps them stay alive. Zebras stay close together so that they can help each other look out of danger. Seeing many stripes at once can also confuse(使眼花繚亂) animals that want to eat them. Some birds stay in a circle(一圈), each toward a different direction. An important part of learning something is making sure you plan your time and use it well. If you want to remember
things well, you need to review information you’ve learned. Try to follow the advice:
DO | DON’T |
●Make a study timetable at least three weeks before your exams and follow time to relax and have fun. ●Review little and often. ●While you’re studying, have short regular breaks. A short break every 45 minutes is good idea. Stand up and walk around— you will feel more awake. ●Try making a weekly plan showing what you do every day(school, travel, meals, etc). You might see where you’re wasting time that you could use to study or read. | ●Study for hours every night a week before your exam! Studying for hours the night before will make you tired and your brain won’t work well. ●Study for a long period of time without a break. You probably won’t remember information very well if you do this ●Worry too much. If you feel nervous, you won’t learn as well as if you’re relaxed. |
【1】When learning something, you’d better make a plan first.
【2】Make sure to review as much as possible every time.
【3】You’ll feel more awake after a 45-minute break while studying.
【4】If you worry too much, you can’t learn well.
【5】You should stay up late the night before exams.

In classroom, your teachers will talk about topics that you are studying. The information they provide will be important for you to know when you take tests. So you must be able to take good written notes from what your teachers say.
Here are the three stages(階段) of taking notes and what you should do during each stage.
1. Before Class
Review your notes you have taken before you come to class. This will be good for remembering what was covered. Get you ready to understand new information your teacher will provide.
2. During Class
Keep your attention on what your teacher is saying and “the signal words” that tell you what your teacher is going to say and it is important to write in your notes. Examples of signal words are “The most important point…” and “Remember that…”. Be sure to include in your notes information that your teacher repeats or writes on the blackboard. Write quickly so that you can include all the important information in your notes. Do this by writing abbreviations such as med for medicine, using symbols such as % for percent, and writing short sentences.
3. After Class
Rewrite your notes to make them more complete and accurate(準確的) by changing abbreviations into whole words, symbols into words, and shortened sentences into longer sentences. Use them to answer your questions. If necessary, ask your teacher for help.

【題目】【湖北省孝感市2015年中考英語試題】閱讀理解 閱讀短文,然后根據其內容選擇正確答案。(共30分,每小題2分)
C
On May 23, Shenzhen introduced tough new rules in order to discourage the “Chinese style of crossing the road”. “Chinese people cross roads without thinking about traffic lights, so long as they are part of a crowd,” said a post on Sina Weibo.
A CCTV news program showed that in only an hour, more than 600 people jumped red lights when crossing a road in Shijiazhuang, Hebei.
Many people say that they jaywalk(亂穿馬路) because the red light lasts too long. Such an opinion is supported by a research team at Tongji University. The team did research on people’s waiting times at different road crossings for three years. They found that Chinese people would wait for 70 to 90 seconds(秒) before they lost their patience. “People are likely to ignore(忽視) the light when the waiting time is longer than they can bear,” said Ni Ying, a member of the research team.
However, a survey on Sina Weibo suggested that people jaywalk mainly because they ignore rules. “I always obey traffic rules. Time is important but safety should come first,” someone wrote on his Weibo.
Many countries give out punishments to jaywalkers. In Singapore, the maximum can be three months in prison. Some Chinese cities have started taking some actions, too. For example, the first three people in a jaywalking group will be fined 50 yuan in Shijiazhuang.
But calling on people to respect rules is more important. To completely solve the problem, everyone should realize the importance of obeying the traffic rules.
【1】Which of the following is the “Chinese style road crossing”?
A. To cross a road slowly.
B. To follow the basic traffic rules.
C. To wait for the traffic light to turn green.
D. To cross roads without looking at traffic lights.
【2】What does the phrase “the team” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. A CCTV news program.
B. A research group at Tongji University.
C. A post on Sina Weibo.
D. A daily newspaper.
【3】How long will Chinese people wait for to cross the road before they lose patience?
A. About five minutes.
B. Less than one minute.
C. Less than one and a half minutes.
D. More than ten minutes.
【4】Why do people jaywalk according to the survey on Sina Weibo?
A. Because people don’t pay much attention to rules.
B. Because there are too many people on the road.
C. Because the red light lasts too long.
D. Because people have less patience.
【5】 The writer suggests that we should __________ to solve the problem of jaywalking.
A. punish the jaywalkers
B. reduce (減少) the time of red lights
C. ignore the traffic rules
D. call on people to obey the traffic rules
