【題目】Hey, Jina!
I’m so glad you’re coming to stay! Let me give you some directions from the airport. You can also download an underground map from the London Underground’s website (www.tfl.gov.uk). Anyway, I hope you will understand my instructions!
From Heathrow, get on the underground – there’s only the Piccadilly Line there. You’ll pass a lot of stations, but you need to get off and change at Piccadilly Circus. From there, you should take the Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus. It’s only one stop, so don’t miss it! At Oxford Circus, you have to change again. You need the red Central Line. It’s a bit complicated , so make sure you get the right platform. Head to Marble Arch. It’s just two stops away – the one after Bond Street. My house is really close to Marble Arch Station – it’s really convenient. Just give me a call when you arrive and I’ll come to meet you!
It’s not the shortest route here, but I think it’s the simplest. If you have any problems, just ask the other passengers. The underground staff will always help you, too.
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Love,
Sally

【題目】 As the weather gets warmer, there are few things that are better to do than travel. But traveling might not be that fun for everyone, especially for those who have motion sickness(暈動癥).
Motion sickness is also called travel sickness. It is a common experience for many people. Depending on how you travel, it can be called carsickness or seasickness. People with motion sickness feel very uncomfortable while they are in motion. They feel sick and dizzy, like the room around them won’t stop spinning.
It is generally believed that motion sickness happens when your senses become cunfused with each other, Scientific American reported.
We use different parts of our body to sense movement. Our eyes tell us if we are moving. The inner ears contain a special liquid(液體) that helps us sense our direction and balance. Our muscles react to movement.
When you move around, these body parts work well together. But when you are in a car or an airplane, they get confused. Your inner ear signals that you’ve moving, but your eyes say you’re sitting still because you can’t see that you’ve moving. This mismatch gives us motion sickness.
But some people are less sensitive to motion sickness. This may be because they have certain genes(基因)that prevent mismatching senses, Bethann Hromatka, a genetics expert from the US, told the Atlantic.
Although there are many ways to deal with motion sickness, scientists believe that the key is to simply try to adapt to it. For example, some astronauts do special exercises that give them gentle motion sickness. After a week or two, the astronauts become used to it and don’t feel uncomfortable anymore, Sam Puma, a NASA flight doctor, told the BBC.

【3】Why do some people have motion sickness?
A.Because their sense stop working.B.Because their eyes can’t see properly
C.Because they lose their senses of directionD.Because there is a mismatch among their senses
【4】The astronauts are mentioned to show that_________.
A.astronauts can easily adapt to motion sickness
B.motion sickness has something to do with genes
C.special exercises can help deal with motion sickness
