The Spirit of Past showed him how his sister cared so much for him in his l1 childhood, and how, as an apprentice(學徒), the kind boss, Fezziwig, danced and entertained his staff on Christmas Eve. His heart began to soften as he r2 how he treated his employees and his c3 from a poor but happy young man to a rich but bereft boss. The Spirit of Present took him to a Christmas party at one of his employees’ house. It was a p4 paid clerk, with no Christmas presents, no turkey. But everyone was happy. The Spirit of Future showed him the sad sight of lying in bed in his old a5, with no family or friends to visit him at Christmas. Then he began to consider the meaning of life, and realized giving was h6 than receiving.

All this gradually awakened a different side of his kindness, love and joy. Just at that moment, his selfishness and ruthlessness(無情) disappeared. 【題目】 Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in his or her life, he or she might write in his or her diary. Now a teenager with the same problems might go onto the Internet and write about them in a blog. In many ways, a diary and a blog are almost the same. So, what makes a blog different from a diary?

The biggest difference is that a blog is much more public than a diary. Usually, a teenager treats his or her diary like a book full of secrets. Both diaries and blogs tell what happened to the writer that day.

I have a little sister, and sometimes I go online to read her blog. She writes about things like waking up early for swimming practice and not studying enough for her chemistry exam. When I was her age, I wrote about the same things, but only in my diary. Then, after I finished writing. I would hide my diary in a secret place because I was worried that my sister might read it!

Because a blog is such a public way of writing. It has both good and bad points. The biggest problem with a blog is that anyone can read what you write. If I am angry with a friend during school and write something bad about her in my diary, she will never know. However, if my sister writes something bad about a friend, that friend may read her blog and get angry. So we have to be very careful of what we write.

A blog has good point, of course. People choose to write in blogs because they know that their friends will read what they write. If I am feeling sad one day and write in my diary, "Nobody

Cares about me.” no one will know about it. However, if my sister writes the same words in her blog. Her best friends will quickly and tell her how much they like her.

If People are careful about what they write, blogs are a very good way to write about everyday life. However, I still prefer my old diary!

1The biggest difference between a blog and a diary is that__________.

A.a blog is more popularB.a blog is more convenient

C.a blog has more good pointsD.a blog is more public

2Why did the writer hide the diary after finishing writing?

A.Because he didn't want his sister to read it.

B.Because he thought his family would read it.

C.Because he liked hiding everything.

D.Because he was worried that what he wrote made his sister angry.

3Which one is NOT the writer's idea?

A.A diary is safer than a blog.B.A diary and a blog are almost the same in many ways.

C.Blogs can help people stay in contact with their friends.D.Blogs are the best way to write about everyday life.

4The passage mainly talks about_________

A.the teenagers' problems in their livesB.the differences between a diary and a blog

C.the good points of writing blogsD.different ways to write about everyday life

【題目】 We are all encouraged to work hard and succeed in life. But failure is still a common part of everyone’s lives. 1If you visit the Museum of Failure in Shanghai, you might change your mind.

Samuel West, a Swedish psychologist, founded the museum. The museum displays more than 100 failed products2For example, in 1993, Apple released the Newton MessagePad which could be used to take electronic notes by hand. But its price was so high that few people wanted to buy it. Apple stopped making it in 1997. Coca-cola once developed a coffee-flavored soda in 2006. 3

West said the failed products were not displayed to make fun of these companies. He thinks success stories are all similar. He is tired of reading and hearing the same boring stories. As Albert Einstein once said, A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”

4There are reasons for this. "The best companies are those that encourage failure, embrace out-of-the-box thinking, and allow employees to make mistakes and see what happens,” Simon Casuto wrote for Forbes.

5The key is whether or not you can learn from your mistakes.

A.It seems that failure isn't always a bad thing.

B.This idea has been welcomed by many big companies.

C.Perhaps you are afraid of failure, or even think it's shameful to fail.

D.Some of them were made by the most famous and successful companies in the world.

E.The company wanted to catch up with people's growing love for coffee, but the product was taken off the market in 2008.
