【題目】Many people think the dinosaurs(恐龍) were the biggest animals that ever lived. They are wrong. The world’s biggest animal is still living and it lives in the ocean(海洋). It is the blue whale(鯨魚). Blue whales can be as long as 30 meters and weigh as much as 1,000 kilos. The largest dinosaurs weighed only 500 kilos.

The whale is not only the world’s biggest animal; it is also one of the cleverest. We know that whales can talk with each other, but we do not know what they are saying. Maybe one day we will learn how to talk with whales, and then they will be able to tell us about themselves.

Whales live in the ocean, but they don’t lay eggs like fish do. They are mammals(哺乳動物). They give birth to babies and have milk inside their own bodies to feed them. Humans are also mammals.

Sadly, there are not many kinds of whales left. People have killed them for food and other things for a long time. Now there are laws to stop people killing most kinds of whales. So maybe there will be more of them in years to come.

【1】Which picture show the correct size of the largest whale?

【2】The underlined word “l(fā)ay” in the Paragraph 3 means .

A. 放置 B. 躺下 C. 打賭 D. 產(chǎn)卵

【3】There are not many kinds of whales left because .

A. they don’t lay eggs

B. people have killed them

C. they live in the ocean

D. there span>are laws against them

【題目】 Science and technology makes our life easier and better than before. For example, a pair of shoes that helps you run faster and jumps higher, a cup that keeps your drink warm all the time, or a cute robot that talks to you, just like a human. The iPhone X is a “dream come true”, according to Apple. It does have some eye-catching selling points. The biggest selling point is Face ID. It can help users unlock their phone and pay for things just by looking at their smart phones.

According to Apple, Face ID has to do with a camera system(系統(tǒng)) called TrueDepth. When the camera system sees a person’s face, it “maps” the face with 30,000 invisible dots (看不見的點(diǎn)). Then the system creates and saves (保存)the model of the face in the phone.

The next time a person looks at the iPhone X, the same dots will compare his or her face with the saved model. If the two match, the phone unlocks. This happens in less than a second.

Apple says that the system is smart. So if you change your hairstyle, put on sunglasses, or use the phone in the dark, then it will still work.

But Face ID may not work with twins. According to Apple, the chance(機(jī)率) of someone unlocking your iPhone X by using Face ID is one in a million. Twins will make the statistics (數(shù)據(jù)) fall down, so you would really need to make a password for twins.

Apple also says that Face ID only unlocks when you look at it. So if you are sleeping or just taking a look at the phone very quickly, then it won’t unlock.

1Why is our life easier and better according to this passage?

2What is the biggest selling point of the iPhone X?
