I come from Yancheng, a small but beautiful city in the north of Jiangsu Province. It has a long history over 2100 years. My city is famous as “fishing town of rice”.

In the history, there were many great men in Yancheng, such as the author of All men are brothers《水滸傳》. Yancheng is rich in sea and beach resources(資源) and it is named “the gold coast”. Yancheng is also one of the oldest revolutionary base areas(革命根據(jù)地) in China. It has the largest and the most representative(代表) New Fourth memorial facilities(紀念設(shè)施).

Yancheng has a lot of specialties(特產(chǎn)), such as Fleece-flower root(何首烏), Funing big cake and the large prawn(對蝦). I like eating Funing big cake best. But my little sister’s favourite is the large prawn.

There are some rare(珍稀的) animals in Yancheng, such as red-crowned cranes(丹頂鶴) and the elk(麋鹿). They are very lovely.
