It was a dark night. I saw bright light in my neighbor,Jack’s kitchen. I thought he could be having a midnight snack, so I went back to my bed. Soon, there was a burning smell and I thought something must be wrong. At once, I jumped out of bed and went downstairs to have a look. I saw a fire coming out of my neighbor’s kitchen. I shouted “Fire!” But there was no one nearby to hear my shouts for help. I ran quickly into my house and called the Fire Department and went back to my neighbor’s house. I knocked at the door and called my neighbor’s name, but there was no answer. I tried to break into the house and saved a cat and a rabbit. I tried to pour water through the kitchen window but it was no use. The fire was too big. Luckily, a fire engine arrived and the firemen put out the fire.
When my neighbor came back, he was sad because his kitchen was burnt down, but he thanked me for calling the Fire Department and for saving his pets.
Several weeks later, my neighbor invited me to his home for dinner. At his new kitchen, he took a photo for me. Later on, he gave me the photo as a present. It made me very happy.

Body language is the quiet, secret and most powerful language of all! It is said that our body movements communicate(表達(dá))about 50%of what we really mean while words themselves only do 7%.So while your mouth is closed, just what is your body saying……
Arms· How you hold your arms shows how open and receptive(接受的)you are to people you meet.If you keep your arms to the sides of your body or behind your back, this suggests you are not afraid of‘ asking on whatever comes your way.Outgoing people usually use their arms with big movements while quieter people keep them close to their bodies. If someone makes you angry, just cross your arms to show you’re unhappy!
Head· when you want to show your confidence, keep your head level(平直).If you are monitor in class, you can also take on this position(姿勢)when you want your words to be taken seriously. However, to be friendly in listening or speaking, you must move your head a little to one side.
Legs.Your legs will move around a lot more than normal when you are nervous or telling lies.If you are at interviews, try to keep them still.
Mouth. When you are thinking, you often purse your lips(撅起嘴).You might also use this position to hold back angry words you don’t wish to say. However, it will probably still be noticed, and people will know you’re not pleased.

We need to be responsible for our environment. Being a frugal consumer(節(jié)儉的消費(fèi)者) is one way to help. But,what exactly does that mean?
Use It Up. You can use things up instead of wasting them. Squeeze that last bit of toothpaste out of the tube. Use the last little piece of soap. Don’t  throw away any bits of the biscuit at the bottom of the box.
Wear It Out. You do not always need to have new things. Suppose your sneakers have broken laces, but they still fit you. Repair them and wear them longer. You don’t have the latest iPhone until the old one doesn’t work any more. Then you can get a new one. Think twice before replacing something that still works.
Make It Do. When something you want is not on hand, look for something else that you already have to take its place. Suppose you are packing your lunch for tomorrow and want a butter sandwich. You are out of butter. Have a cheese sandwich instead so that you can use all of the cheese. Learn to fix broken toys instead of just throwing them away. With a little thought, you can make something do,instead of buying something new.
Do Without. Think about all those things that you would like to have. Do you really need them? How long will you really play with that new toy you saw on TV? Making the things that we want uses up your world’s  resources(資源)。 And, getting rid of the things we don’t want any more takes up even more resources and space.
小題1: What do we need to be responsible for?(請將答案寫在答題紙上)
小題2:How do we deal with the last little piece of soap?(同上)
小題3: When do we need to get a new iPhone?(同上)
小題4: What should we do when something we want is not on hand?(同上)
小題5:What does the writer want to tell us?(同上)
