Shopping for Clothes
Daisy needs some new clothes. One day Mrs Jones takes her to the department store. They go to the children's department.A saleswoman comes up to them.
“Can I help you?”she asks.
“Yes, my daughter needs a new blouse.”Mrs Jones says.
“What size is she?”the saleswoman asks.
“She was a size six last year, but she's bigger now.”
“We'll try a size seven,”the saleswoman says.
Daisy tries on several blouses. She doesn't like any of them. Some are too big. Some are too small. Then she tries on one that is the right size.
“That one looks right,”her mother says.
“No, Mom,”Daisy says.“It's too heavy, I'll be hot.”
At last Daisy likes one.“This is just right, it's not too heavy. It's not too thin.I like the color.”she says.
“Good,”her mother says. She turns to the saleswoman.“How much is the blouse?”she asks.
“One hundred dollars,”the saleswoman says.
“That's much too expensive!”Mrs Jones says.
Poor Daisy! She doesn't get a new blouse that day.
