根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,回答下列問題。
Every year in October, my school holds a swimming competition. This is a day where we all skip (跳過) a day of school, and instead spend it taking part in swimming races.
I took part in six different races. I came first in one of them! However in the other five, I came second . We also helped the younger students race, by swimming alongside them, holding them above the water and making sure they stay safe.
In this event, we compete not only for ourselves, but for our color house to win. The students are sorted(分類) into four different color houses. So we can earn(贏得) points for our success as a group, learn teamwork and do our best. These houses are Blue, Green, Red and Gold. When we are not racing, we are cheering for our friends and trying to earn extra points for our color house for good sportsmanship(運(yùn)動(dòng)員精神).
At the end of the day, there are two major awards. The first award is age champion. This medal is given to the boy and girl from each age group, who perform(表現(xiàn)) the best out of all the other children competing against them. The other award, and maybe the most important, is the winning color house. Different to past years, Blue won for best performance and the other houses were disappointed.
Overall, it was a fantastic and exciting day full of swimming, competition and fun that we all look forward to every year.

On a hot summer day, ice-cold watermelons serve up a delicious treat. Sure, the rosy flesh (果肉) quenches your thirst (解渴). But now there are more reasons than ever for people to reach for a slice of watermelon.
Meet Dr Alison Edwards. She is a scientist at the Agricultural Research Service. Scientists are people who come up with new ideas called theories (理論). They usually do scientific research to test their new theories. That’s how they find out if a new idea is a good one, or if the new idea will bring an even better idea.
At her lab, Dr Edwards recently learned more about the secrets of why watermelons are good for you!
Dr Edwards has known for a long time that watermelons have vitamin C. But recently she learned that watermelons also have lycopene (番茄紅素). It is something that gives tomatoes and watermelons their rosy red colour.
