I watched my mother flying out to get me food. My sister already flew out into the world, too. She flew just like my mother did. I didn't ever want to leave the nest. My wings were nothing like my sister’s. Mine were brown and small, and I just knew they were too weak to fly.

My mother got back and fed me. After I ate, she looked at me and said, “you're old enough now, and it is time for you to fly.”

I told her I felt bad. She said that she could wait until the next morning. But then I would have to go. I stayed close to her in the nest and tried to go to sleep.

When the sun came up the next day, I tried to look small. I knew that birds should fly away and leave the nest, but that didn't mean I could do it.

My mother asked me to watch and learn. I had watched her fly away so many times before. When I stood in the nest watching her, I was scared.

Then something happened. I fell out of the nest! I put my wings out and I was able to fly! I shouted as loudly as I could. They worked! They were strong enough to fly after all! They were wonderful. My mother flew back to the nest and watched me fly and shouted happily.

To forgive(原諒)is a great quality ,but no one has ever said it is easy. When someone has deeply hurt you, it can be extremely difficult to let go of your hate. However, forgiveness is possible. 1.A recent research says that people who forgive others show less anger and are less likely to be ill. How should you start to forgive? Try the following steps.

First, calm yourself down when you are in a bad mood. 2.You can take a couple of deep breaths and think of something that gives you pleasure. Remembering a beautiful scene in nature or someone you love will always help a lot.

Then, never wait for the person who upset you to say sorry. They may not have wanted to hurt you or they just don’t see things the same way as you do. 3.In that case, it may be easier for you to be less nervous. Keep in mind that forgiveness does not necessarily mean becoming friends again with the offender(冒犯者).You are choosing to forgive when you try to see things on the offender’s side.

4.Rethinking about your hurt gives power to the person who caused you to be painful. Instead of focusing on your wounded feelings, learn to look for the love, beauty and kindness around you. 5.If you understand your offender, you may realize that he or she was acting out of unawareness, fear, and even love. You may want to write a letter to yourself from you offender’s point of view.

Finally, don’t forget to forgive yourself. For some people, forgiving themselves is the biggest challenge. But it can rob you of your self-confidence if you don’t do it.

A. Try to see things on your offender’s side.

B. It’s important to keep the friendship with the offender.

C. The next thing to do is to take the control away from your offender.

D. And it can be surprisingly good for your physical and mental health.

E. We should never be hurt by the offenders if we choose to forgive them.

F. To make your anger die away, try some simple skills in dealing

G. If you wait for people to apologize, you could be waiting for a awfully long time.

In an ancient country there were two great carpenters(木匠), Andy and John.

One day, their king wanted to know who was better so he had a match for them two. During the three days, the one who carved(雕刻)the more lovely mouse would be the National First Carpenter.

The two carpenters worked hard day and night. Three days later, they showed the king their carved mice. The king asked all his soldiers to decide the result.

Andy’s mouse was so wonderful that it was just like a real one while John’s was ugly without its shape and look. So the king and his soldiers all agreed Andy was the winner.

But John disagreed. He shouted, “That’s unfair. It should be decided by cats.”

The King thought it was right. Then he asked his soldiers to take several cats there to decide which mouse looked more like a real one. Everyone became surprised because the cats all jumped on John’s mouse while Andy’s mouse was left alone.

Before the fact, the king had to say John was the final winner. Later, the king asked John, “How did you make the cats believe what you carved was a mouse?” John said, “In fact, it’s simple. I carved a mouse only with the fishbone(魚骨)! What the cats care about is not its shape, but its taste!”
