【答案】例文:

Dear Friends,

Please look around. Many of us are wearing glasses. We need to protect our eyes!

As we know, “Eyes are the windows of the soul”. Eyes play an important role in our bodies. If you are short-sighted, it is inconvenient for you to work or drive a car. So protecting your eyesight is very important. Here is some advice on how to protect our eyes.

First, don't have your eyes working for long. Second when reading, you should keep the book about a foot away from you. After reading for an hour or two, you'd better have a rest by looking in the distance. Third, don't read in dim light or in the sun, nor in a moving bus, nor in bed. Finally, remember to do eye-exercises, which will help you keep good eyesight.
If you obey the rules above, you may prevent your eyesight from becoming short-sighted.

English playwright Arthur Wing Pinero said, “Where there’s tea, there’s hope. ”

Tea is, without doubt, welcomed all over the world. According to Statista, a German online portal for statistics, global tea production reached about 5. 8 million tons in 2018. It has become the most consumed beverage in the world – after water, of course.

In order to celebrate the popular drink, the United Nations General Assembly has designated May 21as International Tea Day.

According to the UN, tea is much more than just a hot drink. It’s a big part of many cultures around the world.

You probably know that people in China use top-grade tea to show respect when receiving important guests. Meanwhile, the British tradition of afternoon tea is an important part of that country’s identity. Making Malaysia’s pulled tea has become a sort of art form, where drinkers take pride in its entertainment aspects. As an expression of Moroccan hospitality and tradition, mint tea – a mix of green tea, spearmint leaves and sugar – is served during gatherings and negotiations

Apart from its cultural significance, tea is also a medicine, used from ancient times to modern day. “Tea is cold and lowers the fire,” the famous Ming Dynasty herbalist Li Shizhen once said. The health benefits of tea are still being discovered today.

Hot or cold, bagged or loose-leaf, tea is more than a drink – it’s a social custom and also a magic medicine, a link to the past and a way of life.

回答下列問題,每題答案不超過5個詞。

1Where is Arther Wing Pinero from?

2How many tons did global tea production reach?

3When is International Tea Day?

4What has become a sort of art form?

【題目】 Black beauty

My first home was a beautiful meadow with a pound of clear water. There were some large trees near the pond. On one side of the meadow was a field and on the other was the house of our master, Farmer Grey. He was a kind man.

My mother and I had a happy life. She worked during the day. I played with the other young horses and had great fun. At night I lay next to her.

One day, my master sold me to Squire Gordon. He lived with his family in a big house.

“You are a beautiful horse,” he said, “You have a beautiful black coat. I shall call you Black Beauty.”

I learned to carry my master on my back and pull a coach. I learned to wear reins(韁繩) and a bit in my mouth. I did not like them, but all of the horses had to wear them.

My master had two horses. One of them was Ginger. She was not friendly. She bit and kicked people.

Ginger and I pulled a coach together. The coachman’s name was John. Ginger and I worked very hard. We became friends.

Ginger told me about her life when she was young. She told me, “My master was not kind to me. My reins and bit hurt me. My master didn't care.”

Squire Gordon and his men felt sorry for ginger. They were always kind to her. She stopped biting and kicking people. She became a happy horse.

One day in autumn Squire Gordon went on a long journey. John went with him and I pulled the coach. The weather was rainy and windy. Mr. Gordon and John could not see well in the rain. We came to a bridge. I stopped. “Something is wrong,” I thought. I didn't want to go on to the bridge. Mr. Gordon and John wanted me to go on to the bridge. I didn't move. Just then a man saw us. “Stop!” he cried.

“The bridge is broken in the middle. If you go on to it, you are all going to drown in the river.”

“Thank god!” said the Squire.

Then John said, “Black Beauty saved our lives. He knew the bridge was dangerous.”

A simple life means leaving out many of the things you do so that you can spend more time with people you love and do the things you love. However, getting to simplicity isn't always simple. It's often a journey of two steps forward and one backward.

Evaluate(評估)your time. 1 What things do you do from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep? Make a list, and evaluate whether they're necessary. If not, leave them out and focus on what's important.

Limit(限制)your communications. Our lives these days are filled with communications: email, cell phones, paper mail and more. 2 Instead, set a limit on your communications: only deal with emails at certain times of the day. Limit phone calls to certain times too. It is the same with other communications. Set a timetable and stick to it.

Try living without a car. OK, this isn't something I've done, but many others have. 3Walk, bike, or take public transportation. It reduces costs and gives you time to think. A car is also very complicated, needing not only car payments, but insurance, repairs, gas and more.

4 If you rid(去除)your home of useless things, you might find you don't need so much space. I'm not saying you should live on a boat, but if you can be comfortable in a smaller home, it will not only be less expensive, but easier to maintain(維護),and greatly simplify your life.

A.Have a place for everything.

B.How do you spend your day?

C.It's something I would do if I didn't have kids.

D.They can take up your whole day if you let them be.

E.Consider a smaller home.
