We know that driving less reduces air pollution. But there's another way to help out: drive green cars.
Green here means new energy. The green cars either use less gas,or no gas at all. Some of them use electricity. So they produce less air pollution.
More and more people are willing to take them, because every kilometer they travel means a reduction in PM 2. 5 emissions. You have probably seen many in the street.
Many cities and regions will promote the use of green cars. If a person buys a new energy car,the government will give him or her some money back.
But still, many people don’t want green cars. Green cars need to charge regularly. It takes one and a half hours to charge an electric car,but this only allows the car to drive 200 km. Also, you can’T charge green cars at home. You have to drive them to a special charging station.
But,think about the air pollution. Maybe the trouble is worth it.

When the bell rings, every student takes out an iPad. The light from the screens makes their young faces pretty and lively.
That's what happens every day at my school in the US. We use iPads in class.I felt surprised and excited when I got an iPad the first day I arrived at the school. But it was not free. I paid about $ 100 (about 620 yuan) to rent it for three years.
Every iPad at my school has a special learning system called Focus. Teachers put their teaching materials like textbooks and PPTs on it. When we have classes,we enter the system and download the materials with our iPads.
It makes the classes interesting and efficient. For example, several weeks ago,we learned about former South African president Nelson Mandela. Our teacher prepared a video in which Mandela made an encouraging speech. We could not only watch the video, but also check the transcript (文字稿) at the same time. Because of the video,I know more about the great man.
We also do our homework with iPads. If the homework is made up of multiple choices,we can know our grade right after we submit our homework. If it's essays, teachers grade them online, without needing to look through so many papers.
However, there are still some bad points about learning with iPads. Some of my classmates play games or log on social networking websites in class.
I believe the key to use iPads well is to have good self-control. Isn’t it?

Hey,girls,if your boy classmates play naughty again, leave them alone. You are far more sensible than them, aren’t you?
Now Scientists from Newcastle University,UK, and Seoul University,South Korea, found that the brain matures earlier in girls than in boys. As the brain matures it begins to cut out unimportant information and focuses on important information. This process is called “pruning”.
In order to work out this process, scientists scanned deep inside the brains of 121 people aged between 4 and 40. They found that pruning began much earlier in girls than in boys. Between the age of 10 and 12,a girFs brain will start to see a lot of activity as this pruning process happens. But for boys, this starts around the age of 15 and 20.
During this process, the brain will turn off memories, sounds or sights that appear several times. But important connections, like linking the sound of a familiar person’s voice to their face are kept.
“The loss of connectivity during brain development can help to improve brain function ,” scientist Sol Lim told The Daily Telegraph.
Imagine you are at a party and everyone is talking. You can5t concentrate. But if you turn off some of the voices,it is easier to hear the others. The brain works in a similar way.
If some of the connections are not there,it is easier to do the work.
This new finding could help explain why teenage girls seem to grow up faster than their boy classmates.

A. Boys are more naughty than girls.
B. Girls are smarter than boys.

C. begins much earlier in boys than in girls
D. makes a girl's brain remember fewer activities
() 3. During the pruning process, the brain will sometimes turn off the following EXCEPT .

C. sights D. important connections
() 4. What does the party example show us?
A. It's difficult to concentrate at a party.
B. It's too noisy for your brain at a party.

Almost every day,we use a computer to search information, send e-mails and play games. But everything would not go so well without its friend :small, clickable mouse.
