16-year-old Austin Duvall comes from South Dakota. He became lost and spent 16 hours alone in the Black Hills National Forest. He was scared but still managed to make a survival plan.

Austin Duvall became lost on November 3 rd while hunting with his father. He chased (追趕) after a deer, and soon found himself alone. He had no food or water and there was nothing that could help him find his way to safety.

"When I realized that no one could hear me,I decided to just sleep and get up in the morning and find safety,"he said. Austin curled up (蛛作一團(tuán)) on a rock and slept through a night during which the temperature dropped, and then he woke up and depended on skills he learned in a hunter safety course. He followed a river to a cabin. The couple there called his parents and provided him with sausage, eggs and orange juice. M It's probably a meal that I'll never forget for the rest of my life,"he said.

Austin Duvall's disappearance caused a large ground and aerial (從空中的) search by emergency officials and more than 100 volunteers. His father said,” He wasn’t sitting there waiting for someone to find him. We didn't find him; he found himself. ”
