Did you know?

Box-office monster “Zootopia” has been called the “most Easter egg-packed(彩蛋) movie ever made by Disney”. One of its Easter eggs comes to the species of the news anchor seen on the film’s ZNN channel. Depending on where in the world you’re watching “Zootopia”, the type of animals hosting may change.

Zootopia went a step further to make the different versions (版本). In the US, Canada, France, the news anchor is moose(麋鹿). In Brazil, it’s a jaguar(美洲虎). Australia and New Zealand get a koala; while Chinese audiences see a giant panda.

User Reviews

What can I say…. I’m a huge Disney fan. Maybe not like my friend over at Reviewing All 54 Disney Animated Films. And More!, the Disney cartoons have been a big part of my life. So, in a sense, the Disney animated features are a big deal to me.

Whether young or old, Zootopia’s story carries a powerful and thematic commentary message that’s highly valued and relative (especially in today’s world). As Judy Hopps says in the movie “Life’s a little bit messy. We all make mistakes. No matter what type of animal you are, change starts with you.” And I can’t agree more with that statement.

1. In the film, the animal hosting turns into a ___________ if you live in Sydney.

A. koala B. giant panda

C. moose D. jaguar

2.Who is one of the directors of the film?

A. Jared Bush B. Rich Moore

C. Idris Elba D. Ginnifer Goodwin

3.You can probably spot this article in a(n) ___________.

A. newspaper B. magazine

C. movie net D. Imax poster

4.Which of the following is TRUE based on the passage?

A.Zootopia is a romance story about a koala and a giant panda.

B.The film will be released on 4 March 2016 in English and French.

C.You can go to the nearby theater for different 3D versions of Zootopia.

D.Zootopia made different versions which are called “Easter egg-packed”.

5.Where can we infer (推斷) from the User Review?

A.She is a huge Disney fan.

B.She has reviewed 54 Disney animated films.

C.She agrees with the message that the film carries.

D.She does not agree with what Judy Hopps says.

This is a tale of two friends ---one is blind, the other has no arms. On their own, the two are “disabled”. But together, they are a powerful team that has changed part of their village in North China’s Hebei Province into a rich, green forest. Meet 53-year-old Jia Haixia and Jia Wenqi!

Their story began in 2000, when Haixia, who was already blind in his right eye, lost his left one after an illness. Wenqi lost his arms in an accident when he was just three. Neither could find a job, so the two decided to team up. They rented some poor land and began to plant trees. In return, the local officials paid them a small fee. Haixia and Wenqi never imagined that they would end up creating an environmental paradise. Their forest now has over 10,000 trees, hundreds of birds and many other wild animals. In addition, it saves the village from river flooding during the rainy season. When the friends work together, they focus on their strengths not their disabilities. Their day begins at 7 a.m. when the sightless Haixia carries Wenqi across the river to get to their worksite. Since they cannot afford to buy young trees to plant, the two use branches from existing trees. Haixia climbs to the tree-top and with Wenqi’s direction, selects the perfect branch. He then digs a hole and carefully plants it. Finally Wenqi waters the area. )

Though hard-working, the men don’t make much money. But as Wenqi puts it, “We stand on our own feet, so the fruits of our work taste sweeter.”

Have you ever had the strange feeling that you were being watched? You turn around and, sure enough, someone was looking right at you!

Parapsychologists(靈學(xué)家) say that humans have a natural ability to sense when someone is looking at them. To research whether such a “six sense” really exists, Robert Baker, a psycholog-ist(心理學(xué)家) at the University of Kentucky, did two experiments.

In the first one, Baker sat behind unknowing people in public places and stared at the backs of their heads for 5 to 15 minutes. The subjects (受試者) were eating, drinking, reading, studying, watching TV, or working at a computer. Baker made sure that the people could not tell that he was

sitting behind them during those periods. Later when he questioned the subjects, almost all of them said they had no sense that someone was staring at them.

For the second experiment, Baker told the subjects that they would be stared at from time to time from behind in a laboratory setting. The people had to write down when they felt themselves being stared at and when they weren’t. Baker found the subjects were no better at telling when they were stared at and when they weren’t.

Baker concludes that people do not have the ability to sense when they are being stared at. If people doubt the outcome of his two experiments, said Baker, “I suggest they repeat the experiments and see for themselves.”

1.What’s the aim of the two experiments for?

A. Prove why humans have a sixth sense.

B. Explain when people can have a sixth sense.

C. Show how people act while being watched in the lab.

D. Study whether humans can sense when they are stared at.

2.What sense do parapsychologists say that humans have?

A. A natural ability B. A natural staring ability

C. A strange thinking D. A looking feeling

3.The underlined word “outcome” in the last paragraph most probably means?

A. Value B. Result

C. Performance D. Connection

4.In the second experiment, the subjects ________.

A. could tell when they were stared at and when they weren’t.

B. couldn’t tell when they were stared at and when they aren’t

C. couldn’t tell when they were stared at but could tell when they weren’t.

D. could tell when they were stared at but couldn’t tell when they weren’t.

5.What can we learn from the passage?

A. People are born with a sixth sense.

B. The experiments support parapsychologists’ idea.

C. The subjects do not have a sixth sense in the experiments.

D. People have a sixth sense in all places.
