But some countries have many different time zones. For example, the US alone has five different time zones. My hometown New York is in the Eastern Time Zone. Actually, there is one exception (例外) in China: the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region (新疆維吾爾自治區(qū)). In this region, people either follow Beijing Time - the time that the rest of the country follows - or Xinjiang Time, which is about two hours behind Beijing Time. People in Xinjiang have to be clear whether they are using Xinjiang Time or Beijing Time when making plans with each other.
