【題目】 When you watch TV and play video games you make global(全球的)warming worse! It may seem hard to believe, but when electricity is made, so are greenhouse gases(溫室氣體). This means that every time you use electricity you help make global warming worse!

Cars are also making global warming worse. They burn fossil fuels(化石燃料)in their engines, and send lots of greenhouse gases into the air.2-1-c-n-j-y

Global warming may be a big problem, but we can all help stop it. People can try to drive their cars less. Or even get ones that run on sunlight! You can also help. Let’s try one of these top ideas:

(1)Try to use less electricity. Turn off lights, your television, and your computer when you’ve stopped using them. To make electricity, fossil fuels are burned in big factories. But burning fossil fuels also makes greenhouse gases. You should also try to watch less TV.

(2)Plant trees. Not only is it a fun thing to do, but it is also a great way to lower the number of greenhouse gases in the air. Trees take carbon dioxide out of the air when they grow.

(3)Don’t throw away your rubbish, try to recycle it. If rubbish is not recycled, it is put in the ground. There it rots(腐爛)and makes a greenhouse gas called methane(甲烷).So try to recycle cans, bottles, plastic bags and newspapers. It’ll make you feel great! And it’ll help the Earth.

1 If we ___________, we may make global warming worse.

A. use less electricity B. drive a car on sunlight

C. plant trees/span> D. throw away rubbish

2 We may use more electricity by______.

C. turning up CD players D. turning off TV

3 ______ will make global warming worse.

4Which is the following is NOT TRUE according to the passage?

A. Driving cars on sunlight helps to stop global warming.

B. When cars burn fossil fuels, they produce greenhouse gases.

C. When trees grow, they send carbon dioxide into the air.

D. By planting more trees, we can lower the number of greenhouse gases in the air.

What's your favorite weather? Do you like sunny or rainy days? Many people like sunshine a lot. They don't like rain. They think rain makes them feel sad. I like sunshine very much, but I also enjoy rain. I enjoy the sound of rain. It can make me feel quiet. On rainy days, I like listening to music and doing some reading or just looking at the rain and daydreaming. When you daydream, you don't have to think about other things. I think it's a good way to relax. Sunshine can make one run around and rain can make one keep quiet. I hope you can feel happy no matter it rains or it's sunny.

Teenager Jake Denham was skiing with his family in the USA when he fell over and lost one of his skis(滑雪板). His family didn't know that he had a problem. They kept on skiing. When they got to the foot of the mountain, there was no sign of Jake.
Jake couldn't find his ski anywhere. In the end, he decided to take off his other ski and walk down the mountain. But he couldn't work out the right way to go.
It was now getting dark and he was a long way from any place of safety. He knew that he might die that night in the cold temperatures. But Jake kept calm. At home, Jake watched a lot of TV programmes about living in difficult situations. He remembered the advice from these programmes and knew that he should build a hole in the snow. He made a hole and pointed it up the hill so the wind couldn't blow into it. Outside his hole the temperature fell to a dangerous —15℃ that night, but inside it Jake was safe from the cold.
But he had to get down the mountain. The TV programmes always said, If you are lost, you should find someone else's tracks (軌跡) through the snow and follow them.” “I wanted to live my life”, remembers Jake.
So I got up and I found some ski tracks and I followed those. He walked and walked and finally he saw lights.
Nine hours after he lost his ski, he found a team of workers who came to save him. He was safe!
His mum was very happy when she heard the news. Amazingly, Jake didn't even have to go to hospital. He got through the terrible experience without any injuries.
