【題目】 Life offers so many lessons, both practical and personal, that you're never too young to begin learning them. Here are some skills to learn as soon as possible.

Money Management

When you start receiving money of your own, it's time to start understanding your relationship with money. In a world where you can buy any and every object, the key is to save money by buying only essentials(必需品)and a treat sometimes.

Cooking

One great way to save money is to learn to cook for yourself. Beyond that, cooking at home also helps you control your diet for better health. If you start doing this at an early age, you will not have to depend on your parents too much.

Keeping Promises:

Promises are a matter of honesty and should be made with care. We must learn from an early age that our word must be followed up by action. When it isn't, others will quickly lose trust in us and not respect us. Keeping promises is important.

Accepting Rejection(拒絕)

Though you must be careful not to break your word, others' promises aren't always kept. You may feel angry or sad when others refuse you. Learn about it early, and you won't be hurt easily. Remember that them are more fish in the sea.

Lifelong Learning

No matter how old you get, there will always be things beyond your understanding. It's better to learn to be modest now rather than take a proud fall later in life. Be open to new experiences and keep learning. And it's never too late to start.

【題目】 Drones are like airplanes, only without a pilot. No one without a pilot’s license should be allowed to have one.

Something bad or unexpected can happen when people send up a self-controlled flying machine like a drone without knowing how to really control it. Drones can become flyaways, and can be caught up on a jet stream (噴氣流) and blown away. A falling drone can do much damage (損害) to buildings and people.

Though drones can be harmful, they can be very helpful. At a sports event, drones can be used to give the spectators (觀眾) a view from above or help coaches see how their players are doing. They are also becoming a useful tool for firefighters, helping them find and fight wildfires. Drones can watch secretly on populations of animals in the wild, especially endangered ones. In some faraway places in the world, drones are the fastest way to send medicine to people who are in great need of it.

Some people think drones can only be used by governments to help when needed. Others think that if rules are obeyed, there should be little risk to people and property (財產). Drone makers say drones are exciting new technology and that the future will be controlled by them.

1 用英語列舉drones的兩種用途。

____

____

2 回答問題。Who should be allowed to have a drone?

3 回答問題。In some people’s opinions, can the drones only be used by governments at any time? Why?

4 根據(jù)短文內容完成句子。

【題目】 Rupert Isaacson was born in Africa, and grew up in London and in the English countryside, where he discovered his love of horses. Because he grew up hearing so many fascinating memories about Africa from his parents, he went there and lived with the people called The Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert.

By the year 2000, Rupert was already working as a reporter, writing articles and guidebooks about Africa and India. He met his wife Kristin in India.
