　　Zhao Tao, a student from No．2 Middle School, has just come back from Shanghai．This morning, he told us something about his pleasant trip．When he talked about the Shanghai World Expo(上海世博會(huì)), he was so excited and so proud that he kept telling about it for several hours．The Shanghai World Expo held by China has been on for more than one month．It started on May 1st,and will end on October 31st, 2010．Its main idea is“Better City, Better Life．”About 242 countries and organizations are attending(參加)this expo．Many new products can be seen here, such as we can see the snow in the South Korea Corporate Pavilion(展館)every day during this hot summer though it seldom snows in Shanghai．And we can see, hear, touch and smell the 4-D films at the Oil Pavilion．How wonderful all these new products are!

　　China Pavilion is in the center of the expo garden．It is very beautiful．It represents the development of China from ancient time to now．It's a pride of our China!

　　Thousands of people from all over the world are coming to the expo every day．And many volunteers are working for them．All the tourists are very pleased and they say that the Shanghai World Expo is the greatest one in the world so far．

　　However, Zhao said，“The expo garden is now so crowded．If you want to visit it, you'd better go there during the summer vacation．”

　　I live in a very over populated beach area in the Los Angeles, and I love the beautiful sights．But because of many people, lots of things are easy to be out of order, and sometimes it's also easy to become angry．Today was a day I wish I did not get out of bed．I mean that if I did not have to wake up and deal with all the things that I have to deal with every day, it would have been wonderful．

　　I had a cup of coffee this morning and that was my meal for breakfast, not healthy I know．Anyway, my stomach was sounding like a truck．So, I jumped in my car and decided to buy some food．

　　I was in line at Taco Bell and the line was like a long snake!Finally I got to place my order, but a young girl in nice clothes pulled in(汽車�？�)and was stuck(被困住)in such a way that unless I moved for her, she wouldn't be able to get out．So I backed up(倒車)and waved her into my place in the front of the line．

　　I was surprised that this young girl did not say thanks．I was a little unhappy about it because I thought that I had done something nice for a change．After the girl received her food and drove away, I pulled into the ordering spot, not mad but hungry, and the employee said,“Hi, that girl just paid for your food．”

　　That food was the most satisfying nourishment(營養(yǎng)品)my body had ever taken!If just by chance you are that person who bought my food, I should say“Thank you!”

　　In 1993 an unknown American called Clarence Nash went to see the filmmaker Walt Disney．He had an unusual voice and he wanted to work in Disney's cartoon(動(dòng)畫片)film for children．When Walt Disney heard Nash's voice, he said“Stop!That's our duck!”

　　The duck was the now-famous Donald Duck, who first appeared in 1934 in the firm The Wise Little Hen．Donald lived in an old houseboat(水上住家)and wore his sailor jacket and hat．Later that year he became a star after an eight－minute Mickey Mouse film．The cinema audience liked him because he was lazy and greedy(貪婪的), and because he lost his temper(發(fā)脾氣)very quickly．And they loved his voice when he became angry with Mickey's eight nephews(侄子)．Soon Donald was more popular than Mickey Mouse himself, probably because he wasn't a goody-goody like Mickey．

　　In the 1930S, 40s and 50s Donald and his friends Mickey, Goofy and Pluto made hundreds of Disney cartoons．He also made educational films about the place of the USA in the world, and safety in the home．Then in 1966 Donald Duck and his voice disappeared－there were no more new cartoons．

　　Clarence Nash died in February, 1985．But today's children can still see the old cartoons on television and hear that famous voice．

　　I did, and he was grateful．

　　“I'm glad I could help．I just thought it would be easier for me to reach,”I said．

　　He was a disabled man, and forced to look down most of the time．His arms and legs were twisted(扭曲的)terribly, and he couldn't do what the rest of us would consider easy tasks．He always managed to look up to see how you reacted(反應(yīng))to his words, however．He had a big smile, making me feel comfortable．

　　I was still on my knees by his wheelchair．

　　“Nice shoes,”he said．

　　“Thanks．No one ever complimented me on them before,”I said．

　　“No one has the same view of the world as I do,”he replied．

　　“Tell me about the world as you see it,”I said smiling．

　　“Most people can see if someone is comfortable with them or not in their eyes．I see it in their feet．”he said．“If people keep moving their feet, I just let them go, because I know they're impatient with me．I don't want to make people uncomfortable．

　　“What about me?I asked．

　　“I could see your compassion．And then you came down to my level．I was the one who was nervous．”he said．“I don't normally have someone look me in the eye．”

　　“They don't know what they're missing,”I told him．

　　“My old face is nothing to brag(自夸)about．”he said．

　　“But that smile is so big．”

　　Yes, and it's not only a big smile but an attitude．
