has affected me most in my growth and personality是主語(yǔ)從句中缺少主語(yǔ),應(yīng)該用連接代詞,which側(cè)重范圍內(nèi)的選擇,who等表示人,所以填what。

固定短語(yǔ):play a role in“在……中起作用”,填role。

6. 考查副詞。根據(jù)語(yǔ)境可知此處指在良好家庭環(huán)境中長(zhǎng)大的孩子,固定短語(yǔ): bring up“撫養(yǎng)”。

10. 考查代詞。從上文內(nèi)容可知此處指家庭和朋友,所以用both指這兩者。

One day I was walking home along the street with my iPod on, when suddenly my headphones(耳機(jī)) were knocked off my head and a man threw his arm around my neck, saying “Just be quiet.” I was being attacked, and this man’s arm was gripping (緊夾) onto me! I started screaming and tried to pull him off me, but failed. He was forcing me to walk towards the back of an auto repair shop and he just kept saying: “Be quiet.”

My mind froze with fear. Then I heard my great-grandmother’s voice in my head. She was saying: “Come on now, I know you are stronger than that!” She was the rock in our family until she died four years ago.

I have never had any self-defense(自衛(wèi)) training, but I went for it—I let out a loud scream as I kicked my leg back into his shin(脛骨)! He let go of me and I ran off. When I looked back to see if he was running after me, I saw he was running in the opposite direction. Then I ran like crazy to a nearby drugstore.

I asked the girl at the counter for the phone and called my mom. She picked me up five minutes later and I explained what happened through sobs. “I am calling the police!” She exclaimed. When we got home, two officers were waiting for us and I told them what had happened.

After my experience, I was afraid to do anything. Things slowly got better, but I still don’t like anyone going near my neck.

The fear isn’t totally gone—after all, the guy is still out there somewhere. But I had a new understanding of my own strength. I never expected to be able to fight off an attacker. I am stronger than I realized.

2. After the author escaped from the man, _________.

A. she called the police

B. she called her mother

C. she screamed to get more attention

D. she looked back to remember his appearance

3. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?

A. The accident left no influence on the author now.

B. The attack made the author more confident in a way.

C. The author Suddenly remembered some self-defense moves.

D. The author was so frightened that she did nothing to fight back.

4. What might be the author’s purpose of writing this passage?

A. To show the importance of self-defense training.

B. To warn teenagers of possible dangers on the way to school.

C. To show how brave she was while she was being attacked at that time.

D. To share her experience and tell us that we are perhaps not as weak as we thought we were.

科目:高中英語(yǔ) 來(lái)源:2015屆福建八縣(市聯(lián)考高三上學(xué)期期中英語(yǔ)試卷(解析版) 題型:閱讀理解

Today we'll talk about reading. When we read a text, our eyes move across a page in short, quick movements. We recognize words usually when our eyes still fixate(停留, 凝視). Each time they fixate, we see a group of words. This is known as the recognition span or the visual span. The length of time for which the eyes stop varies from person to person. It also varies within any person according to his purpose in reading and his familiarity with the text. In addition, it can be affected by such factors as lighting and tiredness.

Unfortunately, in the past, many reading improvement courses have concentrated too much on how our eyes move across the page. As a result of this misleading emphasis on the purely visual aspects of reading, many exercises have been designed to train the eyes to see more words at one fixation. For example, in some exercises, words are flashed on to a screen for a tenth of a second. One of the exercises has required students to fix their eyes on some central point, taking in the words on either side. Such word patterns are often formed in the shape of pyramids, so the reader takes in more and more words at each successive(連續(xù)的)fixation. All these exercises are very clever, but it's one thing to improve a person's ability to see words and quite another thing to improve his ability to read a text efficiently. Reading requires the ability to understand the relationship between words. Consequently, for these reasons, many experts have now begun to question the usefulness of eye training, especially since any approach which trains a person to read isolated(孤立的) words and phrases would seem unlikely to help him in reading a continuous text.

1.The time of the recognition span can be affected by the following factors except _______.

A.1ighting and tiredness

B.one's purpose in reading

C.the length of a group of words

D.one's familiarity with the text

2.What does the author mean by the underlined sentence in the second paragraph?

A.The ability to see words is not needed for an efficient reading.

B.The reading exercises mentioned are of little help to an efficient reading.

C.The reading exercises mentioned can help improve reading.

D.The reading exercises mentioned have done a great job so far.

3.The author may believe that reading ______________.

A.demands a deeply-participating mind

B.requires a reader to see words more quickly

C.requires a reader to take in more words at each fixation

D.demands more eyes than mind

4.The tune of the author in writing this text is ___________.

A.supportive B.neutral

C.critical D.optimistic
