Everyone has worries, but what do you do with your worries? Whether your worries are
big or small, you can take three steps to deal with them.
Try to find out the causes.
1. Sometimes you know it, but sometimes you might not. If you can’t make sure what your worries are, you will have more and more new problems in your life. So remember that you must try to find out the causes before you start to deal with them even though it might not be so easy.
2.
There is always something you can do to help you feel less worried. Sitting there worrying is no fun and it won’t solve your problem. 3.. If you’re worried about grades, ask yourself these questions:
·How do I get ready for class? Do I review my notes even when there isn’t a test?
·Do I have a good place to do my homework?
·4.
If your worry is about a fight you had with a friend, you might write down all the things you could do—write a note to him or her, invite him or her to a basketball game, say sorry to him or her etc. . Once you have a list of things you could do, you can choose the one that gets your friend back.
Ask for help.
When you are worried, you need to find someone to communicate with.
5.They will help you analyze(分析)your problems carefully and solve them easily.
A. Have I tried different ways of studying?
B. Grades at school are often a top worry for students.
C. Think of the ways to improve grades.
D. You can ask your parents, friends, or teachers for help.
E. How can I improve my grades?
F. Think of the ways to make it better.
G. The first step is to find out what you’re worried about.

Students and Technology in the Classroom
I love my blackberry—it's my little connection to the larger world that can go anywhere with me.I also love my laptop computer,as it holds all of my writing and thoughts.Despite this love of technology,I know that there are times when I need to move away from these devices(設(shè)備)and truly communicate with others.
On occasion,I teach a course called History Matters for a group of higher education managers. My goals for the class include a full discussion of historical themes and ideas.Because I want students to thoroughly study the material and exchange their ideas with each other in the classroom,I have a rule—no laptop,iPads, phones, etc. When students were told my rule in advance of the class, some of them were not happy.
Most students assume that my reasons for this rule include unpleasant experiences in the past with students misusing technology. There's a bit of truth to that. Some students assume that I am anti-technology.There's no truth in that at all.I love technology and try to keep up with it so I can relate to my students.
The real reason why I ask students to leave technology at the door is that I think there are very few places in which we can have deep conversions(轉(zhuǎn)變)and truly engage complex ideas.Interruptions by technology often break concentration and allow for too much dependence on outside information for ideas.I want students to dig deep within themselves for inspiration and ideas.I want them to push each other to think differently and make connections between the course, the material and the class discussion.
I've been teaching my history class in this way for many years and the evaluations reflect student satisfaction with the environment that I create.Students realize that with deep conversation and challenge, they learn at a level that helps them keep the course material beyond the classroom.
I'm not saying that I won't ever change my mind about technology use in my history class, but until I hear a really good reason for the change,I'm sticking to my plan.A few hours of technology-free dialogue is just too sweet to give up.
1.Some of the students in the history class were unhappy with _______.
A. the course material B. others' misuse of technology
C. discussion topics D. the author's class regulations
2.The underlined word "engage" in Para.4 probably means _______.
A. explore B. accept
C. change D. reject
3.According to the author, the use of technology in the classroom may_______.
A. keep students from doing independent thinking
B. encourage students to have in-depth conversations
C. help students to better understand complex themes
D. affect students' concentration on course evaluation
4.It can be inferred from the last paragraph that the author _______ .
A. is quite stubborn
B. will give up teaching history
C. will change his teaching plan soon
D. values technology-free dialogues in his class

If you say the word “communication”, most people think words and sentences. Although these are very important, but we communicate with more than just spoken and writing words. Indeed, body positions are part of that we call “body language”. We see examples of unconscious body language very often, yet there is also “l(fā)earned” body language, which vary from culture to culture.

The winter holiday is coming. My classmates and I are talking about how to do during the holiday. We can chose between staying at home and take a trip. If we stay at home, it is comfortable but there is no need to spend money. But in that case, we will learn little about world. If we go on a trip abroad, we can broaden your view and gain knowledges that we cannot get from books. Some classmates suggest we can go to places of interest nearby. I thought that it is a good idea. It does not cost many, yet we can still learn a lot.

Calvin Gillian didn’t believe that Norway was the place for an adventurous holiday. However, some friends told him to go there and he loved it.
“I’m an extreme-sports maniac. I’ve traveled to many different countries, but I didn’t expect Norway to be a good place for an extreme holiday. Tourists usually visit Norway because of its old Viking history or to go fishing and boating in the famous fjords(峽灣) to enjoy a relaxing holiday, or to go climbing to enjoy the beauty of nature. But I didn’t go for fishing; I wanted adventure.
“Skiing is the best thing you can do in Norway. Svartisen, the Black Ice glacier(冰川), is wonderful. The ice is not the usual white but a deep blue color, like the sea. However, you have to wear special clothes, because skiing on a million-year-old glacier can be very dangerous.”
“Then, there is Hunderfossen Family Park for Toll Park. You can go water skiing and ice skating. It is certainly a beautiful place but it is more expensive than visiting other parts of Norway.
“I also visited the Homenkollen Ski Jump in Oslo. The view from the top of the ski jump was wonderful and the the ski museum was very interesting. I wanted to try a jump but unfortunately, it’s only for professional ski-jumpers. Anyway, I was very tired and I needed a break, so I went back to my hotel and got some sleep.
“Next year, I am going to take my girlfriend to Norway, too. She is having her holiday in Australia now and she wants to have a different type of adventure for next year.”
1.How did Calvin Gillian feel about his trip?
A. Bored B. Relaxed
C. Satisfied D. Disappointed
2.The underlined word “maniac”(in para.2) refers to someone who___.
A. has a strong interest in something B. has a bad opinion of something
C. expects things to be successful D. likes to compete with others
3.What did Calvin Gillian do in Norway?
A. Ski-jumping B. Climbing
C. Fishing D. Skiing
4.What’s the best title for the text?
A. Calvin Gillian’s Holiday Countries B. Travel in Different Countries
C. Historical Places in Norway D. A Norwegian Adventure
