【題目】Was it because Jack come late for school ______ Mr Smith got angry?

A. why B. who C. where D. that

【答案】D

【解析】

試題分析:考察強(qiáng)調(diào)句型。判斷該句是強(qiáng)調(diào)句型,被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分是because引導(dǎo)的原因狀語(yǔ)從句;強(qiáng)調(diào)句型的構(gòu)成:it is / was +被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+ that /who +其他,當(dāng)被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分是人的時(shí)候that 、who均可使用,否則只能用that。判斷強(qiáng)調(diào)句型的方法是去掉it is / was ……that /who后句子仍然成立。比如:It was in London that they met each other for the first time。句意: Mr Smith生氣是不是因?yàn)镴ack遲到?故答案選D。

Dear Daddy, you stepped into my life years ago, and became my dad, a man who raised three fatherless kids and adopted(領(lǐng)養(yǎng)) another. It didnt matter to you or us whether we were your biological kids or notyou are our dad! You did everything humanly possible for us, and you managed to have taken care of Mom, who has been sick, and the grandkids as well. Lessons we learned are love and compassion and kindnessWe love you dearly.

My dad taught me how to play basketball. He taught me how to pivot, throw three pointers, and do lay-ups and dunks. Now I am a pro (職業(yè)球員) at basketball. When I played basketball in December, I was a good guard. Although I sometimes didnt play very well and my team lost the game, my dad always encouraged me never to lose heart. Now I have a dream that when I grow up I can play basketball on the Celtics. I love my dad!

C

D

The most important thing that my dad ever taught me was Stick to it. Never do anything halfway. He always told me that by doing your very best, you prove your ability, commitment and character. This advice was what I always kept in mind, whether I was removing the snow from the driveway, helping do the volunteer work in the nursing house or completing my last course in graduate school.

It shows what kind of person you are, my dad would say. People will remember and respect you for that. I do remember and respect my dads advice, which will guide me to do anything.

My dad has taught me many things. He has taught me love, hope, respect, discipline and the value of hard work. He has taught me never to be afraid, but when I am, his arms are always open for me to run into. He has taught me the value of a job well done. He has taught me how to ride a bike, then to drive a car. He always tells me that he believes in me and that I can manage to deal with the things around me. He is teaching me how to grow up but not grow apart. My dad is always there for me, and he has told me that he always will be.

E

F

My dad teaches me throughout my lifetime to present day that family is first. He says, As the father, you should put your own wants and needs aside to make sure that your wife and children have the best that life has to offer. He did this without failing every day of our lives, without words or empty promises; instead, through sleepless nights and tireless actions always with a smile. His words always remind me what I should do for the family. I am proud to be his son. I love you, Dad.

My dad and I have a funny company we call Priority. It changes depending on the household chores were doing. He has taught me how to take care of the pool (Priority Pools), how to program garage doors (Priority Garages), how to plan family birthday parties (Priority Parties), how to install dishwashers (Priority Dishwashers) and how to clean the computer (Priority Computers). The list goes on. Im proud of my dad, and grateful for my time with him. We have so much fun doing projects together.

Considerate gift giving is as much about planning as it is about how well you know the person. Take time to think about his or her personality and interests to figure out how he or she will get the most value.

2. They don’t focus on cost.

The practice of thoughtful giving offers a wealth of benefits, but that doesn’t mean givers should focus on expensive gifts. 2 It seems that having more cash could actually reduce compassion(同情). And isn’t compassion what this time of year is all about? So don’t take it too hard if you don’t have a lot to spend. 3

3. They make gifts personal.

Gifting is an opportunity to let a person know how much you appreciate and love him, and show how well you know him. 4 Book a massage (按摩), take them to a wine tasting event, or get a couple of tickets to a concert or show. If you’re buying for a parent, taking their kids for an evening could be the best gift of all.

4. They think about the presentation.

5 See what you have around your house to customize (自定義) packaging. You can use pretty towels to cover something like a bottle of wine. You can also tie on a decoration that fits the theme of your gift.

A. They plan ahead.

B. Instead, get creative.

C. They enjoy more than receiving.

D. In fact, thoughtful gift givers don’t concentrate on the cost of presents.
