【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
I wandered into the small store where I usually buy milk, when the store owner received a call from a customer. The customer and his wife had shopped there several months earlier. He noticed that his wife really liked one thing in the store, so he wanted to buy it as a surprise.
But the customer was in Tennessee, far away from the store which was in Maine. What was more, he had been to the store several months earlier, and it was difficult to believe that the store owner would remember him, or what he was looking for.
The store owner took a few close-up photos with her camera, and e-mailed them to the customer on the computer. The customer looked at the photos, and decided which one he wanted. They talked and discussed a price over the phone. She took care of the credit card transaction (交易) online, and promised the gift would be shipped out that afternoon.
The store owner was really smart. She was willing to push herself to find new ways to make the transaction actually happen. And it did work. However, it was the first time she had ever done it.
I was amazed that the store owner discovered a creative solution that could lead to a new way of doing business. I was impressed by what she did—so easily, but how difficult it is for many of us to make that leap(飛躍). I'm not just talking about technology, but about learning how to adapt to change. Most people hate or fear change unless they get to know exactly what change needs to be made. However, we should realize that challenge and opportunity go hand in hand.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
Telepathy (心靈感應(yīng)) is the ability to communicate without the use of the five senses. It's an instinct (本能) which can be woken up in times of emergency or need. When we feel that something is happening or about to happen by instinct,we're using resources within the unconscious (潛意識(shí)的) mind. When the resources of two persons' unconscious minds link together into the same frequency (頻率),we call it telepathy.
We can either send or receive telepathy. If you know who is calling before you answer the ringing phone, you are probably a good receiver. If you think of a person and he/she calls you,you are most likely to be better at sending.
You can easily put your ability to the test. Thinking of somebody and wish him or her to contact you. Be patient. The other person may not be a good receiver, but they should contact you much earlier than would normally be expected. Or whenever the phone rings, try ‘feeling' who is contacting you. Don't guess, but try to feel it with your mind. However,if neither of these works for you, that doesn't mean that you have no ability of telepathy. As mentioned earlier, telepathy is most likely to turn up in case of emergency.
Telepathy dreams often contain telepathic messages. Two people may both dream of the other and find that their dreams have a clear connection. These people are probably linking to each other's unconscious mind.
Telepathy & relationship. The more people spend time together, the more likely they are to be able to link up to the other's mind, especially when separated. There are two reasons for this. One is that they understand the other's mind through time spent together;the other is that there is usually a strong desire to communicate. A mother will often sense that her child is in danger. This is due to the child's eagerly wanting his or her mother, knowing that this is the person who would always want to be there for them, and the mother's deep desire to protect her child from harm.
(1)Telepathy happens when one ________.
A.has a similar dream with another person.
B.is good at guessing
C.wants to call his/her best friend
D.doesn't know a stranger
(2)Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A.The more people separate, the more likely that telepathy will occur in their life.
B.Telepathy occurs when people make use of their five senses.
C.Telepathy happens when people live far away and have no chance to see one another again.
D.One is better at sending than receiving telepathy if one receives a friend's call as one wishes.
(3)Which of the following belongs to telepathy?
A.Your action in your dream.
B.People's communication over the telephone.
C.A mother's sense of her child being in danger.
D.A couple's long separation.
(4)Which one can be the title of the passage?
A.Receiving Telepathy
B.Dream of telepathy
C.Telepathy: People's Dream
D.Mind-to-Mind Contact

Last Sunday, I take part in a walking activity with my friends. Early in the morning, we joined in other participants of different age. At 8:30, they gathered at the starting point, prepared ourselves for the long distance walking. As soon as the signal was giving, we set off along the walking route around the Sports Park. Some people walked fast, when others just took their time to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful natural scenery. My friends and I cheered each other on, and reached finishing line. Regularly activities like this not only keep us fit, but also help get us closer with nature.

【題目】How to drive greener
Buying green can produce great benefits and so can small changes in your driving behavior. 【1】
1. Avoid aggressive driving. Sudden starts and aggressive driving can waste your gas. 【2】 That’s because just one second of high-powered driving can produce the same level of CO as 30 minutes of normal driving.
2. 【3】 A lot of us like to push the speedometer up to 75 miles per hour on the highway. However, slowing down to 65 miles per hour can increase your fuel economy by up to 10 percent and reduce the amount of pollution coming from your car.
3. Plan ahead. When possible, plan your trips to avoid the stop-and-go of rush hour. And remember to pack all of your tasks into one trip since a warmed-up engine produces fewer emissions (排放物).
4. Pay attention at the gas station. Don’t overfill your gas tank or try to top it off because spilled (溢出) gas changes into mixture of fog and smoke and can pollute groundwater. When you are finished filling up, be sure you tighten your gas cap. 【4】
5. Park smart. Parking your car in the shade not only helps you avoid feeling very hot in your car, but it helps minimize evaporation (蒸發(fā)) of fuel.
6. 【5】 By walking, cycling or public transport, you will make a big difference for our planet. Leave your car at home just two days a week. And you will help cut greenhouse gas emissions by 1,500 pounds a year.
A. Change the oil.

C. Leave your car at home.
D. And this type of driving behavior adds to pollution.
