[1]A new study has found evidence of aggressive behaVior in children who drink four or more servings of soft drinks every day.
[2]The mothers of 3,000 five-year-olds took part in the study. They were asked to keep a record of how many servings of soft drinks their children drank over a two-month period and keep records of how they behaved. The researchers found that 43 percent of the boys and girls drank at least one daily serving of soda.Four percent of the youngsters had four or more sodas to drink every day.
[3]Children who drank the most soda were more than two times likely to show signs of aggression.“For the children who consumed four or more  soft drinks per day,we see an association between aggressive behaviors, attention problems and withdrawn behaviors.”Shakira Suglia says. The aggressive behaviors included destroying possessions belonging to others, taking part in fights and physically attacking people.
[4]Shakira says the researchers identified the link after they considered the factors like the child’s age and sex. They also considered     ,such as whether the boys and girls were eating sweets or given fruit drinks on a normal day.In addition, the researchers examined parenting styles and other social conditions that might be taking place in the home.
[5]It is not quite clear why young children who drink a lot of soda have behavior pmblems. However,a substance oftell found in soft drinks is caffeine, which helps to make people feel energetic.Doctor Suglia suggests that caffeine could be causing the children to be more aggressive.
[6]The research is part of a larger study called the Fragile Families and Child Welibeing Study. It follows 5,000 poor mothers and their children in 20 American cities.
小題1:What is the main idea of the text?(no more than 10 words)
小題2:What does the underlined word“they’’in Paragraph 2 probably refer to?
小題3:List three aggressive behaviors according to the text.(no more than 10 words)

小題4:Fill in the blank in Paragraph 4 with proper words.(no more than 3 words)
小題5:Complete the following statement with one word from Paragraph 5.
People will often become      when they have some coffee,in which caffeine is the major chemical.

小題1:Soft drinks could cause aggressive behavior in children
小題2:The children ; Their children ; The mothers’ children
小題3:destroying others’ possessions
taking part in fights
attacking people physically
小題4:other possible influences (factors)/ other factors (influences)
小題5:energetic / aggressive

A new study has found evidence of aggressive behavior in children who drink four or more servings of soft drinks every day,然后在下文詳細(xì)敘述了調(diào)查情況,由此判斷文章中心是介紹軟飲料可能會造成孩子好斗的行為,答案為Soft drinks could cause aggressive behavior in children。
小題2:信息判斷題。根據(jù)上文They were asked to keep a record of how many servings of soft drinks their children drank over a two-month period …. The children ; Their children ; The mothers’ children。
小題3:信息查找題。根據(jù)文章第三段The aggressive behaviors included destroying possessions belonging to others, taking part in fights and physically attacking people. 可知攻擊性行為包括
①destroying others’ possessions ②taking part in fights ③attacking people physically。
小題4:信息歸納題。在第四段首句Shakira….the link after they considered the factors like the child’s age and sex中提到他們考慮到年齡、性別這樣的因素,再根據(jù)下文They also considered…判斷此處指其他因素的,所以填other possible influences (factors)/ other factors (influences)。
小題5:信息轉(zhuǎn)換題。 根據(jù)第五段a substance oftell found in soft drinks is caffeine, which helps to make people feel energetic.Doctor Suglia suggests that caffeine could be causing the children to be more aggressive.可知咖啡因會使人精力充沛,也可能使孩子更具有攻擊性,而咖啡因正是咖啡中所含有的成分,由此判斷喝咖啡會讓人精力旺盛或者更具有攻擊性,此空填energetic 或者/aggressive。

[1]Everyone has dreams and they obey the rules that if you can dream it, you can achieve it! Here are four goals for people to reach a perfect life in their future.
[2]The first goal common to all of us is health and energy. We all want to be healthy and fit, to have high levels of energy and to live free of pains and illnesses. Today, with the incredible advances in medical science, the quality of our health and fitness, and our lifespan, is largely determined by design, not by chance. People with excellent health habits are far healthier, have more energy, and live longer and better than people who have poor health habits. Remember that health is not everything, but without health everything is nothing!
[3]The second goal that we all have in common is to enjoy excellent relationships--- intimate, personal or social--- with the people we like and respect, and who like and respect us in turn. Fully 85% of your happiness will be determined by the quality of your relationships at each stage, and in each area, of your life. How well you get along with people, and how much they like, love and respect you, have more impact on the quality of your life than perhaps any other factor.
[4]The third common goal is to do work that we enjoy, to do it well, and to be well paid for it. You want to be able to get and keep the job you want, to get paid more and elevated faster. You want to earn the very most that is possible for you at each stage of your career, whatever you do.
[5]The fourth goal we all have in common is to achieve financial independence. You want to reach the point in life where you have enough money so that you never have to worry about money again. You want to completely be free of financial worries. You want to be able to order dinner in a restaurant without referring to the price listings to determine what you want to eat.

Each spring brings a new blossom of wildflowers in the ditches (路溝) along the highway I travel daily to work.
There is one particular blue flower that has always caught my eye. I've noticed that it blooms only in the morning hours, the afternoon sun is too warm for it. Every day for approximately two weeks, I see those beautiful flowers.
This spring, I started a wildflower garden in our yard. I can look out of the kitchen window while doing the dishes and see the flowers. I've often thought that those lovely blue flowers from the ditch would look great in that bed alongside other wildflowers.
Everyday I drove past the flowers thinking, “I’ll stop on my way home and dig them.” “Gee, I don’t want to get my good clothes dirty...” Whatever the reason, I never stopped to dig them. My husband even gave me a folding shovel(釬) one year to be used for that expressed purpose.
One day on my way home from work, I was saddened to see that the highway department had mowed the ditches and the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself, “Way to go, you waited too long. You should have done it when you first saw them blooming this spring.”
A week ago we            that my oldest sister-in-law has a terminal brain tumor(腦瘤晚期). She is 20 years older than my husband and unfortunately, because of age and distance, we haven’t been as close as we all would have liked.
I couldn’t help but see the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the relationship between my husband's sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time left to plant some wonderful memories that will bloom every year for us.
And yes, if I see the blue flowers again, you can bet I’ll stop and transplant them to my wildflower garden.

She is listed in the Guinness Books of World Records for one of her books being the Times best-seller for 381  weeks straight.
Not content with a big house, a loving family, and a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Denielle Steel considers her readers to be the most important resource and has kept in touch with them by-email. Much meaning can be conveyed, clearly with our eyes, sop it is often said that eyes can speak.
Do you have such a kind of experience? In a bus you may loom at a stranger, but not too long. And if he is sensing that he is being stared at, he may feel uncomfortable.
The same in daily life. If you are looked at for more than necessary, you may look at yourself up and down, to see if there is         ..If nothing goes wrong, you will fell angry towards others' stare at you that way. Eyes do speak, right?
Looking too long at someone may seem to be rude and aggressive. But things are different when it comes to staring at the opposite sex. If a man glances at a woman for more than 10seconds and refuses to avert his gaze, his intentions are obvious, that is ,he wishes to attract her attention, to make her understand that he is admiring her.
However, the normal eye contact for two people engaged in conversation is that the speaker will only look at  the listener from time to time, in order to make sure that the listener does pay attention to what the former is saying, to tell him that he is attentive.
If a speaker looks at you continuously when speaking, as if he tries to dominate you, you will feel disconcerted. A poor liar usually exposes himself by looking too long at the honest communication, quite the contrary.
In fact, continuous eye contact is confined to lovers only, who will enjoy looking at each other tenderly for a long time, to show affection that words can't express.
Evidently, eye contact should be done according to the relationship between two people and the specific situation.

[1]  Alice Munro wins the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature, becoming the first Canadian woman to take the award since it was founded in 1901.
[2] Munro,82, only the 13th woman given the award, was praised by the Swedish Academy during the Nobel announcement in Stockholm as the "master of the contemporary short story. " "We're not saying just that she can say a lot in just 20 pages---more than an average novel writer can---but also that she can cover ground. She can have a single short story that covers decades, and it works, " said Peter Englund, permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy.
[ 3] Munro said she always viewed her chances of winning the Nobel as " one of those pipe dreams" that "might happen, but it probably wouldn't. " Munro's daughter woke her up to tell her the news. "It just seems impossible. A splendid thing to happen…More than I can say, " she said, overcome with emotion. " My stories have gotten around quite remarkably for short stories. I would really hope that this would make people see the short story as an important art, not something you play around with until you got a novel written. "

When most people travel, they spend some time booking hotel rooms. However, my friend Ashley and I were not like most people many years ago. We decided that backpacking through Ireland would be more fun if we “winged it”.
Winging it, of course, meant that we’d each buy a one-way ticket to Dublin, and give ourselves ten days to get back to Bath, England, where we were enrolled in a study-abroad program. The plan was to visit Dublin, Galway, Cong, and finally end things in Belfast, where we figured we could catch a flight back to England.
Unfortunately, Ireland had other plans for us, as nothing worked out the way in which we thought it would. After getting stuck in Galway and Cong for about seven days, we finally managed to take a bus trip from Cong to Belfast. The twelve-hour bus ride started at ten in the morning, which meant that we’d arrive in the heart of Belfast at around ten at night. Of course, like all transport, the bus ran late, and we ended up in Belfast at around eleven-thirty at night. As there were a ton of hotels around the area where it dropped us off, we weren’t too worried about finding a hotel room. But hotel after hotel turned us down.
After the third hotel turned us down and the fourth one was locked up for the night, Ashley and I started to realize that we had to spend a long night sleeping on a city bench. Like militant soldiers, we slept in turn as we were worried we would get robbed. The system worked, as we were able to stay safe while catching as much sleep as we could on the bench.
From this experience, I really learnt a good lesson.

A school in Nanjing plans to order Korean-style school uniforms for students, but parents were against the move, believing that the new uniforms looked too good and would encourage early romances among the students.
Parents: “My daughter was so excited about the Korean-style uniform, saying it’s her dream to wear a miniskirt to school every day,” a mom said. “My daughter also called her classmates to talk about how handsome the boys looked in the uniforms! If the students wear such beautiful uniforms, how can they concentrate on their studies?”
School: we had to stop the plan because many parents were strongly against it. Some parents thought it was just a way for the school to make money, and others thought the new uniforms would take students attention away from their studies.
Students: the students were very disappointed about the school’s final decision. They thought the sportswear uniforms made them look androgynous( 兼具兩性的). They said the Korean uniforms had many advantages such as raising interest in class and lifting confidence.
As for concerns about romance, the students believe that love is love and has no relationship to the uniforms.
The Department of Education: We don’t have a unified standard for school uniforms. The schools can choose their own styles. Either sportswear or other uniforms are OK. Currently, most middle and elementary schools in Nanjing have sportswear uniforms.
Expert: Fashionable school uniforms can increase students’ interest in learning. Parents don’t need to worry too much about early romances. Today’s primary and middle school students have strong personalities and their appreciation of beauty is rapidly forming. A fashionable uniform can foster(培養(yǎng)) their sense of belonging to the school and reduce their resistance to the school’s management.
But we don’t have to follow Korean or Japanese styles. We should design our own Chinese style uniforms.
小題1:Why were some parents against their children wearing fashionable school uniforms? (No more than 15 words)
小題2:Why did students dislike the sportswear uniforms?  (No more than 5 words)
小題3:What’s experts’ attitude towards fashionable school uniforms? (No more than 3 words)
