And then from all over the room,people joined in.There were about fifteen people hiding everywhere in the room.
They had got my roommate's key and got in earlier.They had all planned to come out of the hiding place just at the same time while singing.I guess I really upset their plans by going in just to wash my hands.

8.As a group of young African immigrants struggle to adapt to life in the United States,an after-school drama program at White Oak Middle School aims to make their lives easier by first making them a little harder.
Project X is a program that uses drama,dance,poetry and other creative outlets to help students discuss the tough and sometimes painful problems they face as pre-teen immigrants with language barriers.A final unveiling of their creation will be performed for friends and family at the end of the year at Imagination Stage.
Wanjiru Kamau,coordinator of White Oak's African Club said it's important to give troubles to group members to help them find their place at the school."It comforts those who are uncomfortable,and it discomforts those who are comfortable,"Kamau said of Project X.
Kamau teamed up with Imagination Stage after she noticed that many African students seemed uncomfortable talking about problems,such as being laughed at by their fellow students about how they look and talk.When most of the kids join the club,they speak little or no English,Kamau said.Each week,the club typically draws five to ten students who are originally from Africa for discussion sessions and the Project X programme."We are going to express ourselves through our words and our actions,and that's powerful,"said teaching artist Meg Green as she introduced fill-in-the-blank poems the students wrote about their identities.
One student,F(xiàn)rank Ketchouang,13,wrote,"I am from the world; I am love,"which drew oohs and aahs from the group.Ketchouang has been in the United States for less than a year,said Program Coordinator Chad Dike.When Ketchouang started attending Project X,he had been in the United States for two months and spoke no English.Now he's one of the group's most outgoing members and helps translate instructions from English to Creole for the group's newest member,who is from Haiti.
Many people will give up when there's a language barrier,"but these students prove them wrong".Kamau said."You do have something to give.You are important.When TV,media,etc.a(chǎn)re bringing them down,this program is bringing them up."

3.As we drove across town,I prepared my two children for what they were about to see.A lady from our new church was dying of cancer,and I had volunteered to help her with the house-work."Annie has a tumor(腫瘤) in her head,which has disfigured(損毀…的外形) her face,"I warned.
I struggled for the words to describe Annie's appearance to my son and daughter.Then I remembered a movie I'd seen with my son.I wanted him to understand that disabled people are like anyone else-their feelings can be hurt,too.
"David, remember the movie Mask about the boy with the facial deformity(畸形)?"

"What does a tumor look like?"Diane asked me.
I didn't want to frighten the child,so I prepared her just enough but not too much.
"Her tumor looks like the skin on the inside of your mouth.It sticks out from under her tongue and makes it hard for her to talk.You'll see it as soon as you meet her,but there's nothing to be afraid of.Remember,don't stare."Diane nodded.I knew she was trying to picture a tumor in her mind.
We entered the living room,where Annie was sitting in her chair.At the sight of my children,Annie's face brightened."Oh,I'm so glad you came to visit,"she said toughly.
David walked across the room to Annie's chair,put his arms around her shoulders and pressed his cheek to her face.Smiling,he looked into her eyes and said,"I'm happy to meet you."Just when I didn't think I could be more proud,Diane copied her big brother and gave Annie the precious,accepting hug of a child.My throat tightened with emotion as I saw Annie's eyes well up with grateful tears.

A.Facebook's advertising
B.Typical activities on Facebook
C.Suggestions about the future of Facebook
D.Trust with Facebook in personal information
E.Product purchase following Facebook's friends
F.People's attitude towards the development of Facebook
61.B
Jane's description:The most common activity I use Facebook for is to see what people are up to.I like to look through friends'photo albums to see where they've been and who they're with. It's also a nice way to message friends casually.1 created a Facebook group for a certain club,so I just send out messages to the group when a meeting or event is coming up.
62.F
Jane's description:When Facebook was first started, everyone in my age wanted to be on it.The first version didn't have any of the fancy things-we could just message, play poke and befriend. It was too Hat.When they started to add new features like the wall, photo albums, video capabilities, and groups, people became more interested. But then Facebook took it too far.Now I find Facebook has quite a few useless features'prefer an older version of just the basics-messaging,walls,photos-and groups.
63.D
Jane's description:I don't add anything too personal to my profile. My only concern is that friends can post pictures of me that I don't want to share.I download them but they will still be on the Internet.I don't think that's a good idea.I think when you don't want a photo to be shared,it should be deleted from the photo album.
64.E
Jane's description:It wouldn't bother me one bit. It's the same as any other recommendation method.I think it's a good place to sell/buy.You see your friends are into it,so you feel the connection right there-it seems like a great time to make a purchase. If Facebook had this service setup, people could just go on to see what new songs their friends are listening to-one click and they can purchase the songs on music websites,or rent new movies on movie websites etc.
65.C
Jane's description:If Facebook keeps trying to stick in useless applications to attract advertisers,it may sink in the future. But if it allows users to go to music or movie websites directly from their friends profiles,it may become the new social networking search engine that people use to look through their friends stuff when they need advice about what to buy.If they include a feature like favorite stores to shop at,they will definitely expand on the possibilities.
