I used to getting nervous about doing maths at school. I was worried about making mistakes and I often think I wasn’t as well at maths as some of the boys in my class. Besides, I was terrible afraid that I would be laughed by others. My mother told me that my problem lay in the fact that I cared too much about how others saw her and suggested I believed in myself. Now I always put my hands up in class to answer a question. I know that there is something to be afraid of because of even if I get the answers wrong, I can learn from my mistakes.

【答案】1. ... used to getting ... gettingget

2. ... I often think ... thinkthought

3. ... as well at maths ... wellgood

4. ... was terrible afraid ... terribleterribly

5. ... be laughed by ... laughed后加at

6. ... others saw her ... herme

7. ... I believed in ... believedbelieve

8. ... put my hands up ... handshand

9. ... there is something ... somethingnothing

0. ... because of even if ... 去掉of

【解析】1.固定結(jié)構(gòu):used to do sth.表示過去經(jīng)常習(xí)慣做某事,故把getting → get。

2.根據(jù)上下文聯(lián)系可知句子用一般過去時(shí)態(tài),故把thinkthought。

3.固定詞組:be good at,故把wellgood。

4.副詞修飾形容詞,故把terrible → terribly。

5.固定詞組:laugh at sb.

10. even if I get the answers wrong, I can learn from my mistakes.是一個(gè)句子,不是短語或名詞、代詞之類的內(nèi)容,所以此處是原因狀語從句,故去掉because of even if ...中的of。

【題目】TIANJIN, Nov.23 (Xinhua)- Chinese scientists have signed a deal to establish a commercial animal cloning center in the northern port city of Tianjin, making the controversial science closer to mainstream acceptance.

The plant in the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area (TEDA), a government-sponsored business development park, will clone animals including sniffer and pet dogs, beef cattle and racehorses. 【題目】Going green seems to be fad(時(shí)尚)for a lot of people these days. Whether that is good or bad, we can’t really say, but for the two of us, going green is not a fad but a lifestyle.

On April 22,2011,we decided to be green every single day for an entire year. This meant doing 365 different things, and it also meant challenging ourselves to go green beyond the easy things. Rather than recycle and reduce our energy, we had to think of 365 different things to do and this was no easy task.

With the idea of going green every single day a year, Our Green Year started. My wife and I decided to educate people about how they could go green in their lives and hoped we could show people all green things that could be done to help the environment. We wanted to push the message that every little bit helps.

Over the course of Our Green Year, we completely changed our lifestyles. We now shop at organic(有機(jī)的) stores. We consume less meat, choosing green food. We have greatly reduced our buying we don’t need. We have given away half of what we owned through websites. Our home is kept clean by vinegar and lemon juice, with no chemical cleaners. We make our own butter, enjoying the smell of home-made fresh bread. In our home office anyone caught doing something ungreen might be punished.

Our minds have been changed by Our Green Year. We are grateful for the chance to have been able to go green and educate others. We believe that we do have the power to change things and help our planets.
