【題目】閱讀下面短文, 然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。

High school students in Victoria, Australia have been offered Education Department advice ahead of their written exams. The advice has been developed by the state Education Department together with a mental health organization. Exams can be a stressful time and the government is ensuring that students have the support they need to get through the period, Education Minister Martin Dixon said.

Students are advised to breathe deeply through their noses as a relaxation technique, to have a healthy diet, and to improve their mood by exercising. The importance of sleep, staying connected with family and friends, and planned study times are emphasized. Students will also learn positive self-talk. The positive way that you talk to yourself can be used for greater confidence and reducing stress, and can be a very effective way to prepare yourself for a big test or exam, students are told.

The tips encourage young people to speak up if they are having difficulty, and remember that life will go on beyond exams. At the same time, students with serious problems are urged to seek professional help.

Local authourities in Victoria, Australia have provided their students with practical advice in a bid to help them to better handle the stress from the approaching exams.

We can run into stress in our life on various occasions. As for me, maths used to cause a lot of trouble, and has long been a headache. Despite the large amount of effort and time I devoted, I just kept messing up in almost all the exams. It was so painful and depressing that I even started to believe maths was my thing.

Thanks to my parents and my maths teacher, whose support and advice have increased my confidence over the past several months. I have worked out a detailed plan to help manage my time and have tried to adopt useful learning strategies. Hopefully, with consistent efforts in class and regular revision at home, I will catch up and make steady progress.

解析 本文是應(yīng)用文,要求學(xué)生怎樣應(yīng)對(duì)壓力談自己的看法,故應(yīng)用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)和第一人稱。

Then I saw a pair of shoe in front of me. It was a young man, whom was probably in his twenties. He asked me what had happened and brought me to cafe, treating me for a cup of coffee. I calmed down a little when he gently suggested I washed my face. When I came back from the bathroom, he was disappeared. The woman behind the counter said he had paid a full dinner for me and left money in case I needed a taxi home.

【題目】People are interested in eating raw foods or whole foods partly because eating these types of food reduces the risk of acid accumulation(酸堆積)in our body.

Raw and whole foods are usually digested more efficiently than cooked and processed foods. When we cook foods, we destroy the natural enzymes(酶)that are part of the food in its raw form. These enzymes were intended by nature to help us digest the food. When we consume food without these natural enzymes, our bodies either digest the food improperly or allow too many nutrients to be absorbed into the bloodstream. In both cases, the result is obesity. When too many nutrients are absorbed at once, the body grows fat.

Processed foods contain chemical elements, which might confuse the appetite system that tells us when we’ve had enough to eat; as a result, people often overeat. Processed foods also upset the digestive cycle. The body will either identify these foods as allergens and then store them safely away from the organs as fat, or the remains of undigested food will become acidic and enter the bloodstream as acid waste, which will stick to the blood vessel walls(血管壁)and block the passage of vital oxygen and nutrients heading for the body’s cells. The body’s metabolism(新陳代謝)becomes inactive, and the result is weight gain and obesity.

To stop this vicious circle in its tracks, people need to consume food and supplements that will balance the acid already accumulated in body. Eating the right types of raw and whole foods can help. It’s also important to restore our enzyme balance. We need to identify and avoid the foods that cause acid accumulation and consume the foods that increase enzyme production. If we truly want to change and help our body heal itself, we need to take an active approach.

1We can learn from the 2nd paragraph that __________.

A. it is essential for us to digest some fat

B. cooked and processed foods are healthier

C. foods with natural enzymes help us keep fit

D. absorbing many nutrients is beneficial to our health

2Processed foods will probably __________.

A. stop body’s metabolism B. be difficult to digest

C. destroy body’s cells D. lead to obesity

3The underlined word “ vicious ” in the last paragraph probably means __________.

A. harmful B. violent

C. progressive D. positive

4To change and help our body heal itself, we need to __________.

A. consume enough acid foods

B. identify enzyme production

C. avoid restoring our enzyme balance

D. eat the right types of raw and whole foods

Dear Ms. J. K. Rowling,

It is great pleasure to write to you. I like reading all of your Harry Potter book. A few days before, I listened to a radio programme about you. Now I know that you teach English at home and in others countries before you started writing books. I also know that you could only write the first book while your baby daughter was asleep, so you worked on them for five years. That was a very much difficult job. Your son David and your daughter Jessica must be proud for you. I hope I can become as successfully as you when I grow up. Thank you for spending time read my letter.

Yours sincerely,

Michele
