C.Chapter Three. … Your body runs best on foods high in carbohydrates and low in fat and sugar. Eating a healthy diet will provide your body with everything it needs to run smoothly. Your body breaks down proteins into amino acids(氨基酸), so you don’t need to take in the amino acids separately.
D.Chapter Four. …Exercise does more than just burn calories. For instance, regular exercise makes your muscles strong and flexible, and increases the amount of muscle you have. It also makes your heart stronger and lowers your blood pressure; …
E. Chapter Five. …Always warm up and stretch for 5-10 minutes before you do strength or endurance exercises. Afterwards, take 10 minutes to cool down. Your heart should beat normally when you stop. Exercising with a group may help you to exercise regularly.
F. Chapter Six. …Supplementation of a mixture of essential amino acids will increase protein synthesis (蛋白質(zhì)綜合體). While supplementing with either carbohydrate or amino acids may limit muscle damage and stimulate (激勵) protein synthesis, there is increasing evidence that the combination can have an addictive effect.

The break-up of a relationship can mean sleepless nights, problems concentrating, loss of appetite, even depression. Every person reacts    99    the crisis differently. “One can’t expect to function normally in the first period of

Men tend to suppress(忍;控制)   104    pain by working, or with a new relationship, or alcohol. Women, on the other hand, sometimes suffer from depression, fear of the future, or guilty feelings. So long as teachers fail to tell teaching from learning, they will continue to undertake to do for children what children can do for themselves. Teaching children to read is not simply passing reading on to them. Certainly we shouldn’t have spent endless hours in activities about reading. Douglas insists that “reading cannot be taught directly and schools should stop trying to do the impossible.”
Teaching and learning are two entirely different processes. They differ in kind and function. The function of teaching is to create the conditions and the climate that will make it possible for children to devise the most efficient(效率高的) system for teaching themselves to read. Teaching is also public activity. It can be seen and observed.
Learning to read involves all that each individual does to make sense of the world of printed language. Almost all of it is private, for learning is an occupation of the mind, and that process is not open to public scrutiny.
If teacher and learner roles are not interchangeable, what then can be done through teaching that will aid the child in the quest(探索)for knowledge? Smith has one principal rule for all teaching instructions. “Make learning to read easy, which means making reading a meaningful, enjoyable and frequent experience for children.”
When the roles of teacher and learner are seen for what they are, and when both teacher and learner fulfill them appropriately, then much of the pressure and feeling of failure for both is eliminated(消除). Learning to read is made easier when teachers create an environment where children are given the opportunity to solve the problem of leaning to read by reading. Practice makes perfect, you know.
72.The problem with the reading course as mentioned in the first paragraph is that _______.
A.it is one of the most difficult school courses
B.students spend endless hours in reading
C.reading tasks are assigned with little guidance
D.too much time is spent in teaching about reading
73.The underlined word “scrutiny” in the third paragraph probably means “       ”.
A.a(chǎn)greement B.observation      C.control     D.distance
74.According to the passage, learning to read will no longer be a difficult task when  _______.
A.children become very active in reading activities
B.teacher and learner roles are thought important
C.teaching helps children in the search for knowledge
D.reading enriches children’s experience
75.The main idea of the passage is that _______.
A.teachers should do as little as possible in helping students learn to read
B.teachers should encourage students to read as widely as possible
C.reading ability is something acquired rather than taught
D.reading is more complicated than generally believed

Personal computers and the Internet give people new choices about how to spend their time.
Some may use this freedom to share less time with certain friends or family members, but new technology will also let them stay in closer touch with those they care most about. I know this from personal experience.
E-mail makes it easy to work at home, which is where I now spend most weekends and evenings. My working hours aren’t necessarily much shorter than they once were but I spend fewer of them at the office. This lets me share more time with my young daughter than I might have if she’d been born before electronic mail became such a practical tool.
The Internet also makes it easy to share thoughts with a group of friends. Say you do something fun -see a great movie perhaps-and there are four or five friends who might want to hear about it. If you call each one, you may tire of telling the story.
With E-mail, you just write one note about your experience, at your convenience, and address it to all the friends you think might be interested. They can read your message when they have time, and read only as much as they want to. They can reply at their convenience, and you can read what they have to say at your convenience.
E-mail is also an inexpensive way stay in close touch with people who live far away. More than a few parents use E-mail to keep in touch, even daily touch, with their children off at college.
We just have to keep in mind that computers and the Internet offer another way of staying in touch. They don’t take the place of any of the old ways.
64. The purpose of this passage is to ________.
A. explain how to use the Internet
B. describe the writer’s joy of keeping up with the latest technology
C. tell the merits(價值) and usefulness of the Internet
D. introduce the reader to basic knowledge about personal computers and the Internet
65. According to the writer, E-mail has an obvious advantage over the telephone because the former(前者) helps one _________.
A. reach a group of people at a time conveniently
B. keep one’s communication as personal as possible
C. pass on much more information than the later
D. get in touch with one’s friends faster than the later
66. The best title for this passage is ________.
A. Computer: New Technological Advances
B. Internet: New Tool to Maintain Good Friendship
C. Computers Have Made Life Easier
D. Internet: a Convenient Tool for Communication

第二節(jié):根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,從短文后的選項中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項。選項中有兩項為多余選項。
In so many ways, cyberspace (網(wǎng)絡空間) mirrors the real world. Some people ask for information, play games, and share hobby tips.  71  Still others look for friendship, or even love.
Unlike the real world, however, your knowledge about a person is limited to words on a computer screen. Identity (身份) and appearance mean very little in cyberspace.  72  So even the shyest person can become a chat-room star.
Usually, this “faceless” communication doesn’t create problems. Identity doesn’t really matter when you’re in a chat room discussing politics or hobbies. In fact, this emphasis on the ideas themselves makes the Internet a great place for exciting conversation (對話).  73
But some Internet users want more than just someone to chat with.  74  Is cyberspace a good place to find love? That answer depends on whom you ask.
75  Others fail miserably.
A.Instead, a person’s thoughts or at least the thoughts they type are what really matters.
B.Others buy and sell products.
C.They’re looking for serious love relationships.
D.But cyberspace is different from the real world in some aspects (方面).
E. Some of these relationships actually succeed.
F. Where else can so many people come together to chat?
G. Chatting online isn’t always reliable (可靠的).
