【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
Have you ever run into a careless cell phone user on the street? Perhaps they were busy talking, texting or checking updates on WeChat without looking at what was going on around them. As the number of this new “species” of human has kept rising, they have been given a new name — phubbers(低頭族).
Recently, a cartoon created by students from China Central Academy of Fine Arts put this group of people under the spotlight. In the short film, phubbers with various social identities(身份) bury themselves in their phones. A doctor plays with his cell phone while letting his patient die, a pretty woman takes selfie in front of a car accident site, and a father loses his child without knowing about it while using his mobile phone. A chain of similar events eventually leads to the destruction of the world.
Although the ending sounds overstated, the damage phubbing can bring is real.
Your health is the first to bear the effect and result of it. “Constantly bending your head to check your cell phone could damage your neck,” Guangming Daily quoted doctors as saying. “the neck is like a rope that breaks after long-term stretching.” Also, staring at cell phones for long periods of time will damage your eyesight gradually, according to the report.
But that's not all. Being a phubber could also damage your social skills and drive you away from your friends and family. At reunions with family or friends, many people tend to stick to their cell phones while others are chatting happily with each other and this creates a strange atmosphere, Qilu Evening News reported.
It can also cost you your life. There have been lots of reports on phubbers who fell to their death, suffered accidents, and were robbed of their cell phones in broad daylight.
(1)For what purpose does the author give the example of a cartoon in Paragragh2?
A.To inform people of the bad effects of phubbing.
B.To advertise the cartoon made by students.
C.To indicate the world will finally be destroyed by phubbers.
D.To warn doctors against using cell phones while treating patients.
(2)Which of the following is NOT a risk a phubber may have?
A.His social skills could be affected.
B.His neck and eyesight will be gradually harmed.
C.He will cause the destruction of the world.
D.He might get separated from his friends and family.
(3)Which of the following may be the author's attitude towards phubbing?
A.Supportive.
B.Opposed
C.Optimistic.
D.Objective.
(4)What may the passage talk about next?
A.Advice on how to use a cell phone.
B.People addicted to phubbing.
C.Measures to reduce the risks of phubbing.
D.Consequences of phubbing.

【題目】How to keep a journal
Keeping a journal can be a way of giving your feelings an outlet like no other.【1】But it can be helpful to read suggestions for making the most of your journal,as well as some ideas about getting one started.
Find a journal medium that's perfect for you.【2】Both methods have advantages and drawbacks,so you'll need to weigh up what works best for you.For example,a paper based journal can be taken anywhere, never needs electricity. However, typing can be faster and easier in the electronic format.
Decide what kind of journal you'd like to keep. You could simply use your journal to write down all the thoughts that come to you at any particular time, randomly,or you could make your journal more focused on a specific theme to draw out something that you're trying to develop more of in your life.【3】
Find sources of inspiration. It's often easiest to start with your current feelings.【4】There are no rules at all about journal writing and you may find that your starting points vary every time you begin a new entry.Sometimes it is easier to begin with a narrative about something that happened to you during the day.Writing down the facts and events can open up a whole stream of consciousness as you're writing.
【5】Think about what things have become clearer to you from one journal entry to the next, and think about what hopes and dreams once written in your journal have now turned into reality.Use your journal to assess your life's journey.
A.Write down your feelings on paper and see where this takes you next.
B.Reflect over what you've written now and then.
C.Keep in mind that a journal is not about using a fancy book.
D.Decide how you want to keep your journal, either on paper or in electronic form.
E.Journal writing is a personal journey, determined wholly by your own thoughts.
F.It's fun to glue in little things of your life, like pictures you took of a breathtaking sunset.

【題目】閱讀理解。
Since my retirement (退休) from teaching music in 2001, I have spent a good deal of time painting as an artist. I actually began drawing again in the summer of 1995 when my father died, so perhaps I was trying to recover from the loss of my father, or maybe it was just that it brought back memories of him. In any case, I drew pen and ink animals and landscapes much influenced by Krenkel and St. John for five years.
For some strange reason, I had been waiting until my retirement to start doing watercolors again, but as soon as I walked out of the school door for the last time I picked up my brushes and rediscovered Andrew Wyeth, who quickly became my favorite artist. I had looked through all the art books I had on my shelves and found his watercolors to be the closest to how I thought good watercolors should look. So I painted landscapes around Minnesota for three years and tried out many other types of painting. However, watercolors remained my first choice, and I think I did my best work there, showing my paintings at a number of art exhibitions.
Art is now together with my piano playing and reading. There is a time for everything in my world, and it is wonderful to have some time doing what I want to do. As Confucius once said,“At seventy I can follow my heart's desire (渴望).”
(1)What is the text mainly about?
A.Learning to paint in later life.
B.How to paint watercolors.
C.An artist-turned teacher.
D.Life after retirement.
(2)The author started drawing again in 1995 because ________.
A.he hoped to draw a picture of his father
B.he couldn't stop missing his father
C.he had more time after retirement
D.he liked animals and landscapes
(3)We can infer from the text that the author ________.
A.had been taught by Krenkel and St.John
B.painted landscapes in Minnesota for 5 years
C.believed Wyeth to be the best in watercolors
D.started his retirement life at the age of seventy
(4)How does the author probably feel about his life as an artist?
A.Very enjoyable.
B.A bit regretful.
C.Rather busy.
D.Fairly dull.

The key to losing weight is to understand what really interests you. Have you ever been excited about losing a few pounds? And to help you keep your weight under control, you need some coping strategies (策略).
Ask questions. When you're researching different dieting products and plans or even talking to a doctor about diets, ask as many questions as you can. Ask questions like: Do I have to buy special meals? Does the program include a part to help me keep my weight loss?
Get real. Don't burden yourself with unrealistic expectations. Remember, large amounts of weight loss are not realistic and are most likely not safe or healthy. Talk with your health care professional to determine a healthy weight goal.
To keep your weight, you must balance your intake of calories with the energy you burn. Just 30 minutes of fast walking in most days can take about 10 pounds off your weight each year.
Weigh yourself weekly. It's important to track your weight on any diet or weight loss plan, but don't get on the scale every day. Weighing daily won't show you the big picture.
A. Stay balanced.
B. Once a week is fine.
C. Stick with your healthy eating plan.
D. Losing one to two pounds a week is a realistic goal.
E. Being well informed will help you choose the best diet for you.
F. Regular weight check-ins will show you your progress over time.

As warming continues, scientists warn the oxygen content of oceans across the planet could be more and more reduced, with serious consequences for the future of fish and other sea life.
1 One is the simple fact that as water gets warmer, it can hold less dissolved (溶解的) oxygen. The other reason is less obvious. The entire ocean gets its oxygen from the surface — either from the atmosphere, or from photosynthesizing algae floating at the top of the sea. 2
Global warming is expected to reduce the mixing of the ocean by making surface seawater lighter. That’s because in a warmer world we can expect more rainfall and more melting(融化) of glaciers, icebergs, and ice sheets. 3 The extra heat from the warming atmosphere will also make surface water expand and thus make it lighter still. 4 Instead, more of the oxygen will remain near the surface, where it will be used up by oxygen-breathing organisms.
A low-oxygen ocean may become an inescapable feature of our planet. A team of Danish researchers wondered how long oxygen levels would drop if we could somehow reduce our carbon dioxide emissions to zero by 2100. They determined that over the next few thousand years oxygen levels would continue to fall, until they declined by 30 percent. The oxygen would slowly return to the oceans, but even 100,000 years from now they will not have fully recovered. 5
A. It’s not known why the oxygen level of oceans has reduced.
B. Scientists point to two reasons to expect a drop in ocean oxygen.
C. Fresh water’s inpouring will make the water at the ocean’s surface lighter.
D. The oxygen then spreads to the deep ocean as the surface water slowly sinks.
E. Global warming has caused the reduction of the oxygen content of oceans worldwide.
F. The light surface water will be less likely to sink so the deep ocean will get less oxygen.
G. If they are right, we have every reason to worry about the major effect it has on sea life.
