閱讀下面的短文, 然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語(yǔ)短文。
Gaby Lucy is just a 17-year-old American girl, but she has experienced life in the Dominican Republic as a volunteer. When she recalls her time volunteering there, she doesn’t think about the fact that she had no running water and lived in a small house outside. Instead, she remembers fondly the people she met, the work she did with a youth group to improve accessibility to a local library and the leadership skills she gained.
American teens are setting an example to their parents through their volunteer work, according to a new survey by Harris Interactive. The random national telephone survey released this week found that more teens volunteer to support a charitable cause(慈善事業(yè)) – 56 percent – than have a part-time job –39 percent. Parents said 82 percent of the teens in their lives do something to support charitable causes, including volunteering, inviting others to a cause or donating money.

The passage shows a delightful tendency that more teens are volunteering for charitable causes. Such actions set an example to their parents. Gaby Lucy from America is an example. (29w)
From my point of view, volunteering for charitable causes is of vital importance to teenagers. For, one thing, not only can they acquire far more social experience, but also they can update their skills to deal with different situations in the near future. For another, it helps people in need in the quickest and most direct way, building up a bridge of love among people.
I also once worked as a volunteer in old folks’ home, which I’ll always take pride in. I, together with my group members, helped clean their rooms, washed their clothes and presented a show for them. What impressed me most was that the old folks were so happy to see us that they chatted a lot with us.
In conclusion, volunteer work costs us nothing but helps us gain a lot. Therefore, I hope more teenagers can join us and do what we can to make the world more harmonious.
Summary 2: With the example of Gaby Lucy, a 17-year-old volunteer, once working in Dominican Republic, the writer states that more teenagers are doing voluntary work and they have set good examples to their parents. (33w)
