One day the employees of a large company in St Louis, Missouri returned from their lunch break and were greeted with a sign on the front door. The sign said: "Yesterday the person who has been hindering ((阻礙) your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral (葬禮) in the room that has been prepared in the gym."

On Nov. 18, 1995, Itzhak Perlman, the violinist, came on stage to give a concert at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.

In July 2008, Zheng Jie mad her own bit of sporting history for China. At the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, Zheng beat Ana Ivanovic, who was then the world number one, on the way to a place in the semifinals.
