分析 (高分句型一)I'm sorry to hear that you didn't do well in your exam and that you are depressed and worried about your study.在表達難過的時候,使用了兩個that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句,要注意第二個賓語從句引導(dǎo)詞that不能省略;be depressed and worried 表示憂慮和擔(dān)心;
(高分句型二)I am sure by doing this your test results will be improved next time and gradually your confidence will also come back.
該句型使用了被動語態(tài),即your test results will be improved,你的測試成績將得到提高;
高級詞匯:depressed and worried 憂慮和擔(dān)心;failure is the mother of success失敗是成功之母;draw a lesson 得到一個教訓(xùn);make up for彌補;build up confidence建立自信;

18.Hermit crabs (寄居蟹) live their lives in temporary,second-hand accommodation.As the hermit crab grows,it must find a larger shell for (61)protection(protect).If a shell is too small,the crab will not be able to move back fully into it and therefore becomes (62)aneasy target of its enemies.
Competition(63)forempty shells can be quite fierce among hermit crabs,especially if the supply is limited.Sometimes,however,the crabs form orderly"chains",waiting patiently for some (64)hours(hour)to obtain a shell of the right size.
This process begins with a single hermit crab leaving its own shell(65)to inspect(inspect) a nearby empty shell for size.If the shell is too large,the crab will return to (66)its(it) own shell and wait close to the empty shell.As new crabs arrive,they repeat the inspection process.
If the new home (67)proves(prove) unsuitable,they will return to their shells to wait in a queue.
(68)Amazingly(amaze),the crabs order themselves in this waiting chain,(69)whichmay consist of up to 20 individuals,from the largest to the smallest!When a crab claims the empty shell,all the individuals in the queue quickly exchange their shells in order,each crab (70)moving(move) up to the next-sized shell!.

科目:高中英語 來源:重慶市2017屆高三高考適應(yīng)性月考(七)英語試卷 題型:閱讀理解

Patients trust health professionals as a source of advice on behavior change. However, many health professionals dodge giving advice on that. They find traditional behavior change strategies (方法) time-consuming to explain. Besides, it’s difficult for the patient to achieve. Furthermore, even when patients successfully start the recommended changes,the gains are often short-lived because few of the traditional behavior change strategies have built-in mecha-nisms for maintenance (保持).

Meanwhile, brief advice is usually based on advising patients on what to change and why (for example, reducing fat intake lo reduce the risk of heart attack). Psychologically, such advice can be followed only if conscious motivation is engaged. However, the effects are typically short-Jived because motivation and attention will decline. Brief advice on how to change, engaging automatic processes, may offer a valuable alternative with potential for long-term influence— habit.

Within psychology, we define “habits” as actions that are caused automatically in response to reminders. These reminders have been associated with performances. For example, automatically washing hands after using the toilet. Decades of psychological research consistently show that mere repetition of a simple action in a consistent context leads to the action being activated upon .following exposure to those contextual cues (環(huán)境暗示). Once starting of the action goes to outside reminders, dependence on conscious attention or motivational processes is reduced. Therefore habits are likely to remain even after conscious motivation or interest disappears.

1.Which word can best replace the underlined word “dodge” in Paragraph 1?

A. Risk. B. Avoid.

C. Appreciate. D. Admit.

2.What plays the key role in patients’ taking advice?

A. Reasons to change. B. Ways to change.

C. Increasing attention. D. Intended motivation.

3.What may help to keep habits after interest disappears?

A. Outside reminders. B. Mere repetition.

C. Conscious attention. D. Brief advice.

4.What is the passage mainly about?

A. Motivation to form habits. B. Conflicts between patients and professionals.

C. Habits to change behavior. D. Advice from professionals to patients.
