It u won $ 50,000,000 would u still go to college?
Lots of people go to college so they have a chance to get a better job, but if you won $ 50 million, would you still pursue(追求)a higher education?
Re: If u won $ 50,000,000 would u still go to college?
I would surely still go to college if I had that much money, but I would not be competing for a scholarship on collegenet. com. I would probably still discuss things here and I would create other scholarships to help other people to go to college as well.
With $ 50 million, I would not have to worry about getting a loan(貸款)from Chase Bank or finding scholarships to study abroad. I would have published several books by now as well, but I would still pursue my education. Going to undergraduate school is something that I really want to do because I want to become a Pediatrician. Money may buy a lot of things, but it does not necessarily give you knowledge and knowledge is what I am hunting for now.
I am not just going to school to get a better job; I am going to school to realize all of my dreams. $ 50 million is a lot of money, but no amount of money can keep me from my dreams.
Veggie thought: “Money may make things easier, but it is not everything. ”
Re: If u won $ 50,000,000 would u still go to college?
Would I still go? UMM , YES YES YES YES YES! ! ! ! !
I still want to teach... I don’t care if I have more money than Bill Gates... I still want to be in a classroom teaching! ! And I need a degree to do that! Teaching is my dream job, and it would make me really happy.
I would pay off my loans as well as my boyfriend’s loans and help out a couple of friends who are having trouble with money.
Re: If u won $ 50,000,000 would u still go to college?
I would still go to college. The only difference is with that much money to go to college I probably would stay in college longer and pursue a few extra degrees while I am there. I am looking for knowledge not money. The only problem is I need money to pursue knowledge.
Also I could set up scholarship funds and I could save some more for additional dreams that I have.

[1]Every language has its own special words and expressions. And a story can be told  about each of them.Hot is a simple, easily understood word.So are most of the expressions  made with the word hot.But not always,as we shall see.
[2]The words hot potato, for example, give you no idea at all to the meaning of the expression, hot potato. The potato is popular and many Americans like baked potatoes.Imagine trying to carry a hot potato in your hand.It would be difficult, even painful to do so.Some publicly argued problems are highly emotional. The problems must be treated carefully, or they will be difficult and painful if an elected official has to deal with them. One such hot potato is taxes.Calling for higher taxes can mean defeat for a politician. And yet,if taxes are not raised, some very popular government programs could be cut.And that also can make a politician very unpopular. The questions must be dealt with carefully, the same way you would handle any other hot potato.
[3]Another expression is not so hot.If you ask someone how she feels, she may answer“not so hot."What she means is that she does not feel well. Not so hot also is a way of saying you do not really like something. You may tell a friend that the new play you saw last night is not so hot. That means_____________.
[4]A hot shot is a person, often a young person, who thinks he can do anything. He is very sure he can succeed. But often he fails. The expression was born in the military forces.A hot shot was a soldier who fired without aiming carefully.
[5]Hot is a word that is often used to talk about anger.A person who becomes angry easily is called a hothead. An angry person’s neck often becomes red.We say he is hot under the collar.

第三節(jié)回答問題(共3小題;每小題2分,滿分6分)
閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)第58至第60小題的具體要求,簡(jiǎn)要回答問題,并將答案轉(zhuǎn)寫到答題卡上。
In choosing a friend, one should be very careful. A good friend can help you study. But how do I know when I have found a good friend? I look for certain qualities(品質(zhì)) of character, especially understanding, honesty and reliability(可靠).
Above all else, I look for understanding in a friend. A good friend tries to understand how another person is feeling. He puts himself in the other person’s place, and he tries to think of ways to be helpful. He is also a good listener.
At the same time, however, a good friend is honest. He does not look for faults(過錯(cuò)) in others. He notices their good points. In short, a friend will try to understand me and accept me.
Sometimes you will meet “fair weather friends”. They will be with you as long as you have money or luck, but when you are down, they will run away. So, I think another quality of a friend is reliability. I can always depend on(信賴) a good friend. If I need a favor, he will do his best to help me. If I am in trouble, he will not run away from me.
There is a fourth quality that makes a friend special. A special friend is someone with whom we can have fun. A good friend likes the same things I like. He likes to laugh with me. That is how we share in the joy of being friends. And I know that he is looking for the same quality in me.
When I meet someone who is reliable, honest, and understanding, I know I’ve found a friend!

Directions: Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions according to the information given in the passage and the required words limit. Write your answer on your answer sheet.
Every woman worries about the day when she glimpses the first wrinkle (皺紋) in her otherwise smooth skin. But for many, that day is arriving even earlier than they expected.
Sun and cigarettes in adolescence and early adulthood are the sinner (罪魁禍?zhǔn)? behind age spots, broken blood vessels and irregular pigmentation (色素沉著) by the time you’re in your 30’s. Avoiding those two is the best way to keep skin look young as long as possible. But if damage is done, don’t lose hope. You can take advantage of a lot of skin-care products.
What can you expect from these and other skin-care products? Here’s some advice from the experts:
Sunblock
It seems obvious, but dermatologists (皮膚科醫(yī)生) say many people still wrongly assume that sun protection is required only for a day at pool or beach. In fact, you need it every day. Wonder what your skin would like if you’d kept it protected from the sun? “Look at your butt (臀部),” says Dr. Steven Cohen, chief of the dermatology department at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. “It’s smooth, without wrinkle.”
Spot removers
To specifically target “sun spots” and even out skin color, dermatologists recommend products with hydroquinone (氫醌;對(duì)苯二酚), which gradually whitens the skin. Side effects include redness and irritation. Avoid these products if you’re pregnant because they can hurt a developing fetus (胎兒).
One more point: you’re never too late to protect your skin. You may feel like giving up when you see the consequences of teenage tans (dark color spot) in your mirror, but that’s no excuse for skipping daily sunblock. Sun damage is accumulative—and that means every day’s rays do a little more harm. So keep on doing it, and you may get a big surprise after ten or more years.
81. What do the underlined words “those two” in Paragraph Two refer to? (No more than 3 words)

PART FOUR  WRITING
SECTION A
Directions: Read the following passage. Complete the diagram by using the information from the passage.
Write NO MORE THAN 3 WORDS for each answer.
Supplying energy by nuclear power is a new trend in the recent years. However, it may be very dangerous.
First, the radioactive material must travel from its place of production to the power station. Although the power stations themselves are strongly built, the containers used for the transport of the materials are not. Normally, only two methods of transport are in use, namely, road and rail. Unfortunately, both of these may have an effect on the general public, since they are sure to pass near, or even through, heavily populated areas.
Second, there is a problem of waste. All nuclear power stations produce wastes that in most cases will remain radioactive for thousands of years. It is impossible to make these waste non radioactive, so they must be stored in one of the inconvenient ways that scientists have invented. For example, they may be buried under the ground, or dropped into deserted mines, or sunk in the area. However, these methods do not solve the problem, since an earthquake could easily break the containers.
Third, there may occur the danger of a leak or an explosion at the power station. As with the other two dangers, this is not very likely, so it doesn’t provide a serious objection to nuclear program. However, it can happen.
Separately, these three types of dangers are not a great cause for worry. Taken together, though, the probability of disaster is extremely high.

A dog named Rico recognizes the names of about 200 objects, say researchers in Germany.   72   Its word-learning skills are as good as those of a parrot or chimpanzee.
In one experiment, the researchers took all 200 items that Rico is supposed to know and divided them into 20 groups of 10 objects.   73   In four tests,Rico got 37 out of 40 commands right. As the dog couldn’t see anyone to get clues, the scientists believe Rico must understand the meanings of certain words.
In another experiment, the scientists took one toy that Rico had never seen before and put it in a room with seven toys whose names the dog already knew.   74
The correct object was chosen in seven out of 10 tests.suggesting that the dog had worked out the answer by process of removing.A month later,Rico remembered half of the new names, which is even more impressive.
