Some people make you feel comfortable when they are around. You spend an hour with them and feel as if you have known them half your life. .
Here are several skills that good talkers have. If you follow the skills, they'll help you put people at their ease, and make friends with them quickly.
First of all, good talkers ask questions. . One well-known businesswoman says, “At business lunches, I always ask people what they did that morning. It's a common question, but it will get things going.” From there you can move on to other matters—sometimes to really personal questions. . Second, once good talkers have asked questions, they listen to the answers .This point seems clear, but it isn't. Your questions should have a point and help to tell what sort of person you are talking to. And to find out, you really have to listen carefully and attentively.
. If someone sticks to one topic, you can take it as a fact that he's really interested in it. Real listening also means not just listening to words, but to tones of voice. If the voice sounds dull, then, it's time for you to change the subject.
Finally, good talkers know well how to deal with the occasion of parting. If you're saying goodbye, you may give him a firm handshake and say, “I've really enjoyed meeting you.” . Let people know what you feel, and they may walk away feeling as if they've known you half their life.
A. Real listening at least means some things.
B. You can become a popular person.
C. Almost anyone, no matter how shy he is, will answer a question.
D. And how he answers will let you know how far you can go.
E. If you want to see that person again, don't keep it a secret.
F. It's polite to listen to others with a smile.
G. These people have something in common.

Several years ago I was at a train station waiting in line to buy a ticket. As I stood there I saw a young man asking people for money so that he could buy his breakfast. Most of the travelers simply (ignore) the young man or gave (he) a dirty look, yet a well-dressed middle-age man reacted differently. When (draw) near by the young man, the gentleman looked him and quietly asked, “How much will you need?” I couldn't hear the young man said but watched as the gentleman pulled several (note) from his wallet and (calm) placed them in the young man's hands.
I don't know whether the young man actually used the money for his breakfast or for purpose. What I do know is that I saw two different reactions to the same situation. I saw people who (be) either afraid or annoyed. And then I saw the gentleman who was not afraid and treated the homeless young man as though he were a brother. I decided then and there that, even though we have to be (care) in this world, I would rather be like the gentleman.

【題目】閱讀短文,回答下列問題。
B
Have you ever made contact with the creative spirit, that certain something hard to describe, but full of good—and sometimes great—ideas? It is more than an occasional great thought. When we feel the moving of the creative spirit, it brings to life a style of being: a lifetime filled with the desire to invent, to explore new ways of doing things, and to turn dreams into reality.
That flash of inspiration is the final moment of a process marked by unique stages—the basic steps in creative problem-solving. The first stage is preparation, when you look for any information that might be important. It's when you let your imagination run free.
But one barrier(障礙) is the inside voice of judgment that locks up our creative spirit within the limits of what we think acceptable. It's the voice that whispers to you, "They'll think I'm foolish," or "That will never work." But we can learn to recognize this voice of judgment and have the courage to discount its unhelpful advice.
Once you have thought about all the relevant(相關(guān)的) pieces and pushed your mind to the limits, you can let the problem remain and take in all you have gathered. It's a stage when much of what goes on occurs outside your focused awareness. As the saying goes, "You sleep on it."
We are more open to creative thoughts from the unknowing mind when we are not really thinking of anything. That is why daydreams are so useful in the search for creativity. Anytime you can just daydream and relax is useful in the creative process: a shower, long drives, a quiet walk, etc.
With luck, daydreaming will lead to a light turning on above your head, when all of a sudden the answer will come to you as if from nowhere. This is the popular stage—the one that usually gets all the glory and attention, the moment that people sweat and long for, the feeling "This is it!" But the thought alone is still not a creative act. The final stage is translation, when you take your creative thought and transform it into action; it becomes useful to you and others.
(1)In Paragraph 1, “the moving of the creative spirit” probably means .
A.preparation
B.exploration
C.problem-solving
D.inspiration
(2)According to the article, what keeps us from creativity?
A.Having less information to form a good idea.
B.Relying on others during the creative process.
C.Caring about other people's opinions about us.
D.Thinking about too many ideas at the same time.
(3)What can we learn from the fifth paragraph?
A.The unknowing mind is very difficult for us to understand.
B.Creativity arrives when we aren't focused on anything.
C.Daydreaming is useless and has nothing to do with creativity.
D.Showers, long drives and quiet walk are good for our bodies.
(4)When does creativity become useful to us and others?
A.When thought is turned into action.
B.When people understand our ideas.
C.When the popular stage is reached.
D.When we think “This is it!”.
(5)Which of the following would the author probably support?
A.The creative spirit means an occasional great thought.
B.Others' voice of judgment allows us to ignore barriers.
C.Creative problem-solving calls for barrier-free imagination.
D.Daydreaming is sure to bring a sudden answer to a problem.

【題目】Here are four tips to enjoy a Swedish summer.

Stay in a cottage

There are nearly 600,000 summer houses in Sweden. And more than 50% of the Swedes have access to them through family or friends. A few of the most popular summer house destinations for Swedes can be found in the provinces of Smaland, Skane and Oland. If you want to spend your summer like a Swede, make sure to spend a few nights in a cottage.

Follow the trail to Gotland

The island of Gotland is where half of Stockholmers go during the summer. In the medieval (中世紀(jì))city of Visby, ancient streets and city walls meet modern restaurants, cafes and shops. A short ferry ride northeast of Gotland lies the smaller island of Faro, where director Ingmar Bergman used to live. Both Faro and Gotland are famous for their many flea markets.

Check out a music festival

Swedish summer is a festival season. Way Out West, or WOW, is the most popular music festival with about 30,000 visitors. It is usually held in Gothenburg park of Slottsskogen in August. It has been prized as the Most Innovative Festival by MTV and, since 2012, WOW has only served vegetarian food(素食). The decision, praised by Jamie Oliver, has reduced the festival’s carbon footprint by 20%. WOW is also Europe’s biggest combined music and film festival.

Pick blueberries in Dalarna

Dalarna is perhaps the most Swedish province, with its red wooden cottages, deep green forests and Dala horses. This region is perfect for making yourself involved in traditional Midsummer celebrations or listening to Swedish folk music. When you need a break from all of this loud Swedishness, head into the woods for some quiet blueberry picking.

【題目】閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個選項(A、B、C和D)中,選出最佳選項。 Have you ever been to an Irish wedding? I have just returned from one. It is a quarter to five in the morning: the sun has already climbed above the horizon; the birds are busy celebrating the new day and have eagerly been in search of food. But some of the guests have not yet left. They are still prolonging the night: dancing, singing, gossiping, putting off the unfortunate necessity of undertaking a day’s work in the fields after a sleepless night.
Throughout most of her life, Bridget Mary, the bride, has been living in the small whitewashed thatched cottage I have just left. Twelve children have been brought up there but only two are still living at home. The eldest son, heir (繼承人) to the small farm, is helping his father with the farm work (they employ no farm laborers); the youngest daughter is still at school. Two years ago, Bridget Mary went to England to take up domestic work in a hospital and it was while she was living there that she met her future husband, Terry. He himself is an Irishman who used to live in Dublin and now has a well paid job in a light engineering works in England. They got engaged and started saving. Now they are thinking of buying a small house near Terry’s factory.
The wedding ceremony was performed in the church in the nearest town at half past eight yesterday morning. Another couple were being married at the same time. Nobody worried about the cost of the celebrations: four luxurious cars brought the bride, bridegroom, family and friends home, and forty people were crowded into the tiled kitchen and the tiny living room, hung with framed school certificates and religious pictures. A big meal was given; the wedding cake was cut and toasts were drunk in whisky or wine. And while the remains of the feast were being cleared away and the rooms swept, the four cars set out again, taking the married couple and relations for a drive round the countryside.
