On the afternoon of October 22nd this year, the Students’ Union of our school did a survey among 1000 parents on whether teachers should criticize their students. Among the 1000 parents, 38% of them express their strong disagreement because they believe that if the teachers do this, the relevant students may get mentally hurt. Besides, they also maintain that there is no need for the teachers to take things so seriously since it’s natural for man to error, middle school students in particular. However, the others insist that criticism and timely correction is necessary because middle school students need a guide on right and wrong, but meanwhile, they emphasize the importance of tactful criticism. Furthermore, those supporters express their voice that teachers should especially watch out their words, making sure not to hurt the students involved.
