Ten years ago, I was in greatly depression. I worked hard at piano learning and devoted all my spare time to learn it. But I failed to pass the B level test, that made me quite disappointed. So I turned my mother for help when I got home. Hearing of what I told her, she smiled, “Test results sometimes cannot real show your ability and level. Thus, my progress should not be judged only by one test.” She encouraged me to work hard for the next year’s B Level Test. I take my mother’s advices. Now the B level test is in front of me, and I’ve realized that the process of learning is much important.

devote…to doing“致力于,獻身于”。to是介詞。

故將that改為which

turn to sb. for advice“向某人征求意見”,是固定搭配。

故去掉of。

故將my改為your。

故加more。

My father is the man I respect most. Strict as he may be, however he never fails to show her care and consideration. Once I broke a neighbor window. Seeing nobody around, I ran away immediately. When Dad came home, he noticed my uneasiness and asked me what has happened. I could only tell him a truth. Instead of scold, he praised my honesty and then encouraged me to apologize our neighbor. I learned from this incident that not only does Dad take care of my health and he also teaches me what to be a good citizen. How luckily I am to have such a good father!
