11-15 BCACD   16-20  BBCDB   21-25 DBADB  26-30 DACDA
根據(jù)"a room with two double beds and a bathroom"可知,我和父親共同分享一間有著兩個雙人床和一個浴室的房間.
根據(jù)下文"my stepmother had…us both out of the house the previous week"可知,作者的繼母把我們趕出了家門,故是爸爸的第二次婚姻出現(xiàn)了問題,"in trouble   處于困境中",所以選A正確.
根據(jù)下文"what to do withme"可知,爸爸不知道該怎么做;"have no idea  不知道"故D正確.
根據(jù)"their onlydaughter,Su,my best friend,asked them to."
根據(jù)下文"with them for thenext seven years."
根據(jù)下文"they had heard the whole story from Su."
When I was seven,my mother died and from then on my father relied on other people"可知,父親要靠別人撫養(yǎng)他的孩子.
句中"would havebecome"是關(guān)鍵,它決定了前面的空是but for而不是"thanks to";故選D.
故選A.
故選A.

14.What motivates(激發(fā)) us to take on life's challenges?Is it money,fame,power,or something else?Most businesses operate today on the carrot-and-stick system of rewards(獎賞) and punishments.Employees are rewarded for good performance,and punished for performing badly.This usually works well in situations where workers are performining simple tasks,like cheching products or packing boxes.
However,for jobs that repuire creativity,such as writing or designing,it's a different matter.In actual fact,people in these jobs are not so much motivated by outer factors like cash rewards.They do their job because they like it.They like the challenge of it,they like the mastery of it,they like the creativity that it requires.These factors are generally called inner motivators,which can be further broken down into autonomy,mastery and purpose.
Autonomy refers to self-direction.The greatest things that have happened in all kinds of societies--western,eastern,modern,ancient-have been the result of people being able to do what they wanted to do.People,like these Iranian portesters in July 2009,follow the human nature to resist(抵制) control and direct their own lives.
Mastery is the desire to become better at something that matters.A recent Harvard business school research shows that the biggest motivator at work by far is making porgress.People,making progress one day,are more likely to be motivated to make greater progress the next day.
And finally,purpose,to do what we do in service of something larger than ourselves.It is not necessarily something like reducing-green-house gases from the atmosphere,but can be simply writing a great story that helps people understand world a little bit better or creating something that brings beauty to somebody's life.
Today's business managers, facing the increasingly competitive pressures of a global marketplace, should question their traditional attitudes about what actually motivates us as humans.

A.regards purpose as the most important inner factors
B.is persuading managers to turn to inner motivators

For over 2000 years, the good old iron horseshoe has remained the only reliable footwear f horses, but an Austrian company is ready to “take the horse out of the Iron Age” with the world’s first equine(似馬的) running shoes, the Megasus Horserunners.

Charly Forstner, the founder of Megasus, learned that over 50% of horses that , put down suffered from severe hoof (蹄) and leg problems. 20 years ago, he decided to devote his life to coming up with a better alternative to the iron horseshoe. Recently he created truly revolutionary-clip-on running shoes for horses.

While the iron horseshoe is known for its durability and adjustability it also has some serious flaws-it’s heavy, restricts movement, has no shock absorption, channels heat and cold to the inner hoof, and the need for nailing can destroy the hoof horn. But finding hoof boots that don’t rub on a horse, leg and hoof, are easy to put on and remove, and stay on all kinds of terrain(地形), can be a real struggle. The Megasus Horserunners claim to combine all the qualities of both choices, while getting rid of the downsides.

“The innovative Megasus Horserunners offer many advantages. They are lightweight, can be adjusted individually, easy to put on, and offer protection without permanence,” a Megasus press release states.

“It can also stay put in all kinds of terrain including mud and water plus it allows the hoof to be flexible. The product is also designed to protect the sole from bruising, cracking and other injuries by offering shock absorption. It does not accumulate snow, dirt or mud and is easy to clean.”

After successful tests, Megasus sought to raise some money for production through crowdfunding online, asking for ?100,00. Finally, they managed to raise ?169,136. The first Megasus Horserunners are scheduled to be shipped in July 2017.
