One possible version

   Anne was a Jewish girl who lived in the Netherlands during World War II.

   She had to hide away with her family, so that they wouldn’t be caught by the German Nazis. During that time she made her diary her best friend, to which she could tell her deepest feelings and thoughts. Not having been able to be outdoors for so long, Anne was crazy about everything to do with nature. One evening, she stayed awake till midnight on purpose in order to enjoy the moon with the risk of being exposed. How she wished she could regain freedom and experience nature herself!

Unfortunately, they were caught by the Nazis eventually and Anne died in a concentration camp in 1945.
