19.On Oct.6th,2011,a piece of breaking news hit the world:Steve Jobs, the founder of the Apple Company,(61)passed(pass) away after years of battle against pancreatic cancer.I as well as many people (62)was(be) sad at the news.We saw him make miracles again and again, and we hoped that he would always give us a surprise. We enjoy using an iPod to listen to music and we like to play games with (63)an iPad.We love to communicate with our friends by iPhone.(64)Itseemed that Jobs always understood what we really wanted. So he could dedicate himself to his career by creating the amazing products constantly. But now he quietly left,(65)leaving(leave) us a great pity.
U.S.President Barack Obama called Jobs a visionary(有遠(yuǎn)見的)(66)leader(lead) and one of the greatest U.S.innovators.He said in a statement,"Steve was brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and( ) 67talented(talent) enough to do it."
Steve Jobs'family said in a statement,"Steve died(68)peacefully(peace) today surrounded by his family. We are grateful(69)forthe support and kindness of those(70)whoshare our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us,and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief."

本句be與I一致.
63.a(chǎn)n 考查冠詞.with后加不定冠詞再加名詞,表示用---工具或途徑等,iPad為元音音標(biāo)開頭的單詞,用不定冠詞an.
64.It 考查it用法.句型It seems that…
69.for 考查介詞.be grateful for意為"因…感激",是固定搭配.
70.who 考查定語從句.分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知這是一個定語從句,先行詞those在從句中作主語.

7.I have always known my kids use digital communications equipment a lot.But my cellphone bill last month really grabbed my attention. My son had come up to nearly 2,000 incoming text messages, and had sent nearly as many.Of course,he was out of school for the summer and communicating more with friends from a distance.Nevertheless,he found time to keep a summer job and complete a college course in between all that typing with thumb.
I was even more surprised to learn that my son is normal."Teenagers with cellphones each send and receive 2,272 text messages a month on average,"Nielsen Mobile said.
Some experts regret  that all  that  keyboard jabber(鍵盤閑聊) is making our  kids stupid, unable to read non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, gestures, posture and other silent signals of mood and attitude.Unlike phones, text messaging doesn't even allow transmission of tone of voice or pauses, says Mark Bauerlein, author called The Dumbest Generation:How the Digital Age Stupefies Young Americans and Jeopardizes Our Future.
Beyond that, though,I'm not sure I see as much harm as critics of this trend.I've posted before on how I initially tried to control my kids'texting. But over time,I have seen my son suffer no apparent ill effects, and he gains a big benefit, continuing contact with others.
I don't think texting make kids stupid. It may make them annoying, when they try to text and talk to you at the same time. And it may make them distracted, when buzzing text message interrupt efforts to noodle out a math problem or finish reading for school.
But I don't see texting harming teens'ability to communicate. My son is as accustomed to nonverbal cues as any older members of our family.I have found him more engaged and easier to communicate with from a great distance.because he is constantly available by means of text  message and responds with faithfulness and speed.
21.What is Mark Bauerlein's attitude to texting?D
A.It is convenient for teens to communicate with others.
B.It is likely to cause trouble in understanding each other.
C.It is convenient for teens to text and ca ll at the sam e time.
D.It will cause damage to the development of teens'intelligence.
22.What would be the best title for this passage?A
A.For Teens,Texting Instead of Talking
B.For Parents,Caring Much for Their Kids
C.Disadvantages of Texting
D.The Effect of Communication
23.What does the underlined word"distracted"in the fifth paragraph mean?B
A.Confused.
B.Absent-minded.
C.Comfortable.
D.Bad-tempered.

14.Ask someone what they have done to help the environment recently and they will almost certainly mention recycling.Recycling in the home is very important of course. However, being forced to recycle often means we already have more material than we need.We are dealing with the results of that-overconsumption in the greenest way as possible as we can,but it would be far better if we did not bring so much material home in the first place.
The total amount of packaging has increased by 12% between 1999 and 2005.It now makes up a third of a typical household waste in the UK.In many supermarkets nowadays food items are packaged twice with plastic and cardboard.
Too much packaging is doing serious damage to the environment. The UK,for example,is running out of it for burying this unnecessary waste. If such packaging is burnt,it gives off greenhouse gases which go on to cause the greenhouse effect.Recycl ing helps, but the process itself uses energy. The solution is not to produce such items in the first place.Food waste is a serious problem, too.Too many supermarkets encourage customers to buy more than they need. However, few of them are coming round to the idea that this cannot continue, encouraging customers to reuse their plastic bags, for example.
But this is not just about supermarkets. It is about all of us.We have learned to associate packaging with quality. We have learned to think that something unpackaged is of poor quality. This is especially true of food. But it is also applied to a wide range of consumer products, which often have far more packaging than necessary.
There are signs of hope.As more of us recycle,we are beginning to realize just how much unnecessary materials are collected. We need to face the wastefulness of our consumer culture, but we have a mountain to climb.
32.What does the underlined phrase"that overconsumption"refer to?A
A.Having more material than it is needed.
B.Recycling too many wastes.
C. Making more products than necessary.
D.Using too much packaging.
33.The author uses figures in Paragraph 2 to showD.
A.the tendency of cutting household waste
B.the increase of packaging recycling
C.the rapid growth of supermarkets
D. the fact of packaging overuse
34.According to the text,recyclingA.
A.helps control the greenhouse effect
B.means burning packaging for energy
C.is the solution to gas shortage
D.leads to a waste of land
35.What can be inferred from Paragraph 4?C
A.Unpackaged products are of bad quality.
B.Supermarkets care more about packaging.
C.It is improper to judge quality by packaging.
D.Other products are better packaged than food.
