13.A young ensign (海軍少尉) was given the opportunity to prepare his ship to"set sail".Soon the ship was driven slowly out of the channel. The ensign's efficiency was remarkable. In fact, the talk was that he had set a new record for getting the ship underway.Later he was handed a radio message from the captain.
"My personal congratulations on completing the sail with amazing speed,"it read,"but next time wait until your captain goes aboard before getting underway!"
What good is a ship without the captain? The ensign did all the right things, but he never did the most important thing!
It is a matter of priorities (優(yōu)先).You may accomplish a great deal every day.But are you accomplishing the truly important things?Have you put first things first?
In work and study,in the areas of mental, physical and spiritual health, are you truly doing the important things?

①此處是動(dòng)名詞"Putting first things first"作主語(yǔ),主句為"is",表語(yǔ)為"a matter of priorities".
②此處是由關(guān)系代詞"which"引導(dǎo)的非限制性定語(yǔ)從句,主句為"Putting first things first is a matter of priorities".
③此處是由關(guān)系代詞"who"引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句,先行詞為"an ensign".

②此處是由"when"引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句,從句中用了省略,結(jié)構(gòu)為"when+現(xiàn)在分詞",可以理解為"when I delt with an important examination".
③此處是由關(guān)系代詞"which"引導(dǎo)的非限制性定語(yǔ)從句,主句為"I can not explain why I was so stubborn at that time and was quite illogical when dealing with an important examination".

解答 Putting first things first is a matter of priorities, which was misapprehended by an ensign who prepared the sailing with remarkable efficiency but left behind the most important thing of having a captain.【高分句型一】(概括)

1.Sixth-grader Ivory Kelly finished up an English assignment at the blackboard.Then…Ping!Ping!He felt something hitting his head.The 12-year-old knew just who was  dissing  him.He turned around and shouted at DeAngela Byrd.DeAngela claimed she was innocent.Then she called Ivory a"guinea pig.""Hosemouth!"he shouted back.Their teacher,Linda Mann,didn't send them to the principal.She didn't even make them stand in the hall.Instead,she sent them to work things out in a small storage room.The room is Glengarry Elementary's mediation center (調(diào)解中心).
Mediation in school is a way to solve conflicts without having teachers punish students.Kids called mediators are trained to listen to classmates accused of misbehaving or fighting.Without taking sides,the mediators help troubled kids come up with their own solutions.It usually takes no more than 15minutes.
At Glengarry,30students from third through sixth grades are trained to settle fights.After calmly discussing the attack and name calling with sixth-grade mediators,Michael Reese and Tracie Thacker,Ivory and DeAngela signed a promise"not to mess with each other."
Many U.S.elementary schools are starting to give kids more responsibility for discipline.In the past 10years,one-tenth of the nation's 86,000public schools have started programs to resolve conflicts,mostly in middle or high schools.But educators want to begin more mediation programs sooner.They say elementary-age kids are even better at talking about their feelings and deciding on a fair solution than older kids are!When a teacher or principal is not involved,"kids talk more freely,"says Glengarry Principal Loraine Johnson.
So far,mediation seems to work well.In one survey of 115Ohio elementary schools with mediation programs,two out of three noted a decrease in fights,and more than half said fewer kids were being sent to the principal's office.In New Mexico,reports of bad behavior in elementary schools have dropped 85% since mediation programs began.

66.The underlined word"dissing"in paragraph 1is closest in meaning toB.

B.insulting
C.invading
D.interrupting

A.a(chǎn)re neutral,never taking sides
B.provide a solution for the troubled kids
C.a(chǎn)ccuse students of misbehaving or fighting
D.decide on the punishment for misbehaving students
68.Which of the following statements is falseD?
A.Teachers are not mediators and won't give judgments.
B.Mediation programs in schools seem to reduce misbehavior.
