Nowadays we can still see some behaviors against public morals. People often complain that they see some people jump in the queue, disturbing the harmony of society, and to be worse, chairs meant /intended for children and seniors are occupied by the young. It is high time that we should take actions to improve public morals.
Firstly, government should make it a rule that people will get fined or punished if caught behaving against public morals. Additionally, it makes sense that schools should take on the duty to give students lessons on how to be a qualified citizen. Last but not the least, only by setting some examples can people learn how to behave
decently from people around. All in all, it owes to the majority’s support that we can live in a peaceful and harmonious neighborhood. Don’t hesitate to get rid of your own improper behaviors.

【題目】My father was always a good gardener. One of my earliest memories is standing without shoes in the freshly tilled (翻耕的) soil, my hands blackened from digging in the ground.
As a child, I loved following Dad around in the garden. I remember Dad pushing the tiller (耕作機(jī)) ahead in perfectly straight lines. Dad loved growing all sorts of things: yellow and green onions, watermelons almost as big as me, rows of yellow com, and our favorite—red tomatoes.
As I grew into a teenager, I didn’t get so excited about gardening with Dad. Instead of magical land of possibility, it had turned into some kind of prison. As Dad grew older, his love for gardening never disappeared. After all the kids were grown and had started families of their own, Dad turned to gardening like never before. Even when he was diagnosed with cancer, he still took care of his garden.
But then, the cancer, bit by bit, invaded his body. I had to do the things he used to do. What really convinced me that Dad was dying was the state of his garden that year. The rows and rows of multicolored vegetables were gone. Too tired to weed them, he simply let them be.
For the first few years after he died, I couldn’t even bear to look at anyone’s garden without having strong memories pour over me like cold water from a bucket. Three years ago, I decided to plant my own garden and started out with just a few tomatoes. That morning, after breaking up a fair amount of soil, something caught the comer of my eye and I had to smile. It was my eight-year-old son Nathan, happily playing in the freshly tilled soil.

【題目】Everybody in this world is different from one another. But do you know that understanding differences can help you better manage your money?
As we grow up, we gradually develop a set of our own values or beliefs. These are influenced by society, our family, the education we receive and so on. Once this value system is set up, it's not easy to change later in life.
Financial experts say that everyone also has their own belief of how to manage their finances. This is part of our value system and it has a great impact on the way we look after our money.
According to our different values, experts put us in three categories. They are: the ant, the cricket and the snail.
The ant-works first
Just like ants who work heart and soul in summer in order to store food for winter, these people don't care about enjoying the moment. They work very hard and save money they earn so that they can enjoy life when they get old and retire. The ant loves to save but they could make more out of their money if they were willing to invest in some funds and stocks with low risk.
The cricket-fun first
The cricket wants to enjoy everything now and doesn't think too much about the future. They even borrow money when they really want something. Many young people now belong to this group. These people have little savings. When they get old, they might have problems. They should learn to save and buy insurance.
The snail-lives under pressure
The snail refers to people who make life difficult for themselves. They take big long-term loans from the bank in order to buy things such as luxury houses. They are happy to take big loans even though they are not sure whether they can afford it. This can cause problems in the future. They should plan more carefully.
【1】People with the character of the snail would like to ________.
A. enjoy life at the moment without thinking much about the future
B. put work before everything else
C. live a luxury life at all costs
D. take the risk of investing a large sum of money
【2】Our beliefs and values are affected by the following except ________.
A. society B. our family
C. education D. money
【3】This passage mainly talks about ________.
A. the relation between man and insects
B. the spending nature of people
C. the insects in nature
D. the problems with dealing with money
【4】Which of the following has the character that the author prefers?
